Besides in 6 months it's Volta (thank vega for that) and back to the drawing board, the voices start, upgrade, upgrade lol. It a vicious cycle I tell ya lol

I'm running a few heaven benchmarks with only the single monitor plugged in for comparison to after I plug all 3 monitors back in. I then plan to plug one at a time in and see what happens.

Edit: Plugging in my second 60hz monitor with displayport kept the idles at 215. However, when I plugged my third 60hz panel in with DVI, the clocks spike back up to 1500+. So it seems DVI is the culprit after all. My displayport cable is arriving tomorrow--hoping that running all 3 displays on displayport will correct the issue permanently!

One strange thing is that while my clocks came down to 215, the temperature seems to be sticking at 51c. I find it hard to believe that a 1300 reduction in core clock isn't bring the temperature down at all. Any thoughts?

It's not just DVI, it's having more than 2 monitors. I have the same issue with all three using DP and now two with DP and one HDMI (as a DP on my one monitor has died).

It's an issue that's been pointed out to Nvidia for a long time and it's gone from "We are aware of it and will work on a fix" to now "It's working as intended".

Is this an issue with above 60hz displays because I run 3 60hz panels and downclock fine?

you will need to use a program such as notepad++. This is completely free. Make sure msi afterburner is not running

You will need to open up msi afterburner then click on the (I) This will give you the info of the graphics card.

Copy this portion this will be an example

VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_

You will need to go into where the MSI afterburner is installed folder.

Find the file and edit the oem2 with Notepad++

Then scroll down

put this in for your own reference if you want

#1080ti voltage unlock#

if not just put this in

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??] your ven number maybe different.
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

Once done save.

Open up msi afterburner then you will need to go into settings and select third party voltage control.

Save and restart MSI Afterburner.
