NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 750

Been playing with the curve, got 2037 at 1.093 stable for 11 or so scenes before it dropped to 2025 at 1.081v.

Also is it normal to see power perfcap when I'm only just hitting 105-110%?

I can tell the card is trying hard to not go past 110% even though I have power limit maxed to 120%.

Stable with what exactly? Test 8k Superposition, I'm pretty sure your card isn't stable at that voltage and core clock thumb.gif

Like someone posted earlier, there is 2 TDP% one that you can see in GPU-Z and one that shows up in HWINFO as TDP% normalized. If any of those hit close to 120% you will get Perfcapped

Can play games and benchmark with one active and no SLI or nVidia surround with zero issues.

Just ordered an AX1500i..

Never in my life did I expect to max out a 1200 watt premium PSU.

yip the old PSU debacle
I have had a real bad run on PSU. 5 in 10 years mad.gif
even my current Enermax 1500W maxrevo is a warranty replacement always had a 1500w UPS pure sine wave, my friends say must be the OCing.
One my friends still got his ling long win wong no brand PSU going strong after 7 years even with SLI.
I don't rate corsair after my experience with 2 HX 850w could not run 580 SLI or 770 SLI stock or underclocked RMAed it to have it blow up after 1 year on my media PC probably less than 100w load.
took a chance with an EVGA

you just got a dud PSU, RMA it should be 7 year guarantee then sell the replacement

Lol how do you know so much about my card? Anyway that's on 4K Supo.

Ahh I see so I should run HWM alongside GPU-Z on my benches then.

Some charts from my testing results with The Witcher 3 maxed at 4k (with hairworks 8xAA) from this post: http://www.overclock.net/t/1624521/nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-owners-club/7470#post_26053260

Note that these results are without shunt mod, air cooling (MSI Gaming X) and the maximum attainable curve OC I could get to run stable on this game (2113MHz 1.0930mv). I'm power limited in both stock and overclocking tests. But it shows that while the 1080 Ti is a power hungry beast, you can also make it a power efficient beast if you want to (for thermals/acoustics) without losing too much performance thumb.gif

- Recommended for those with aftermarket cards that don't want to shunt mod and want a quiet/cooler 1080 Ti
- HIGHLY recommended for those owning a 1080 Ti FE!

Note that memory OC doesn't affect power draw that much so you can push it as much as you want to. Core voltage affects power draw the most out of anything.

Can you post your voltage curve for Witcher 3?

Also, try first to play W3 for at least 3 hours to see if your clocks are really stable. I reached many "stable" clocks in Witcher 3 (2063, 2050, 2038) but all eventually crash in W3. Funny is that it can stay stable at 2050 at 1.062 and at 1.050 at 2038. However once it starts droping to 2025 at 1.043V it usually crash short after (like 20-30 min). I have no idea how and why.

I also figured out that giving card less Voltage OC in Voltage slider made it run stable longer. I went for +35%. Now maybe it needs more or less to not crash once it reaches 1.043V.

It is really stupid that it can stay stable at higher bin, higher clock but stops being stable at lower bin, lower clock.

This makes me mentail biggrin.gif

Is the temperature the same? Also, how long does it stay in each bin. The longer the higher the chance of crashing due to partial instability.

They all behave similarly. 1.0930mv is pushing it to the absolute limit in terms of power draw. There is no way your card isn't throttling anywhere with that amount of voltage, that is the primary reason people are shunt modding their cards in the first place thumb.gif

You probably also don't need 1.0930mv to hit 2037, more like 1.0430-1.0620 for 100% stability is the norm for that clock speed.
