- indepth look at the PCB (the card it's self),
- the power delivery system (and O/C'ing) and
- the cooling system (heatsink+fan & thermal pad arrangement)
is my perfect kind of review!
In terms of performance it is going to to be determined by Silicon Lottery.
If a "review sample" was a decent clocker; in general it will perform about 5% faster than a FE of the same 'lottery'.
(However official reviews often don't take into account FE's which have had the "shut mod" and water, which would eliminate
that 5% gap).
Other things to consider would be EVGA's reputation as a company and their customer service.
If it's 50 benchmarks (bar-graphs e.t.c)
showing comparative performance up against other 1080TI's (or older cards) in 50 different games then you may have to wait for more reviews to be done.
Another great benefit to the FTW is the 9 thermal sensors (which I don't believe any other partner is offering -- I know doesn't help performance) but it 'could' be a good indicator of GPU health.Edited by nrpeyton - 5/2/17 at 1:03pm
