NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Owner's Club - Page 809

I just bought an MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X and it gets artifacts even on stock speeds in 3D applications.

It's pretty rare but it's there; usually it's just a few, small red/pink stuff that looks like space invaders (from the old game).

Once it was huge red rectangles across the screen playing Elite Dangerous.

Downclocking memory doesn't seem to help (didn't bother restarting as I kind of have to run the PC 0-24h) and overclocking +400 Mhz is instant freeze and rainbows. It also seems ~8-10% slower in benchmarks than FE cards I find in benchmarks/reviews. Latest nvidia driver and latest GPU Bios.

Previously I used an 1070 witohut any issues.

I'm finding lots of threads with both 1080 and 1080 Ti having arfitacts, how common are these really? I'll send this card back for sure, but I'm not sure if I should go with another brand of 1080 Ti.

Try re-seating the cooler and check the VRAM pads. If that still doesnt work then RMA it, something is dodgy with the core.

Nice, be sure to share your OC results. I don't like that it is 8+6 pin only and that copper cover from pump itself is also cooling VRAM since imo that will only adds temps to core...

Also, I didn't find any information about Power Limit of Hybrid SC. If it is only 300W then it is really dissapointing. 350W with Hybrid cooler would allow for better OC potential.

But I have to wait anyway till they will appear in my country so I am in no rush.

you planing to do the honorable thing this time and sell yours first? or another return? lol

After reading so much about it and to maximize my 2 X 1080TI

I finally just bought a 5775C to replace my 4790K. ( I have a kijiji offer for my 4790k at 360 CAD... not sure I will sell it at that price but there is no market for that here in quebec, I will probably end up keeping both)

It will arrive next week so... any benchmark recommendation to do on my 4790k while waiting to be able to compare and see the gain after the switch.

I did 1336 on firestrike ultra,I hope I will get a better score.

Also I'm on win 7, would switching to Win 10 be better in gaming? from you experience, does the new Nvidia driver work better in win10
I used win 10 for a year but it seems heavy compare to 7 and I feel like Microsoft was watching my every move on win10, there some weird behavior. I switch back to win7

Sometimes people think they have stable clocks before checking all games they have or play longer than 3 hours.

Well, not too much waste. I love playing with hardware so I am looking foward to Kraken G10 mod smile.gif

Good luck on the 2100Mhz Gaming OC card looking at the OP post in this thread you got 4/40 or one in 10 cards are clocking to 2100Mhz
My opinion 2100 meh it is just a number like My CPU unlike you I had to buy every single one and sell the dud OCers I was lucky and got a 5Ghz 3770k on the 3rd BUT I run 4.8Ghz as a daily clock.
Not that is unstable @ 5Ghz just is soooo much more load for a 4% more Mhz almost .15v more but in all honest truth the performance scales more like a <2% OC
I have not done the numbers for the 1080Ti I simply don't have time, I do know the same happened with my GTX 770 SLI setup after 1350Mhz the performance simply didn't scale.

Maybe someone with time and a 2100Mhz capable card could do the numbers for all of us the actual gains per bin from 2000Mhz to 2100Mhz to put this to the test of truth

I wasn't sure what I should report my clock speed @KedarWolf my maxium attainable speed of 2100Mhz or my maximum stable sustained OC of 2038Mhz

FWIW, the EVGA coolers look much better in person than they do in pics. The ACX 3.0 coolers were a serious turnoff for me, and then when I saw one in my hands I felt differently. The ICX cooler looks much better to boot and still has that same affect. I guess it's just the way the OEM takes the photos.

Watched the Gamer's Nexus review on the FTW3 (Or rather break down), and I was sold on it. Ordered it (or rather signed up for order when it comes available) locally.
