if you could not get this tweak working, the review has a minor update with clearer instructions on how to get this working so give it another try. props to Guru3d guys.

this is because the code can be different from machine to machine.

Yeah a lot of stuff gets stolen in the shipping line. I've had boxes arrived opened, as if someone had saw newegg or amazon on the box and opened them to check what's inside to see if it's any good or small enough to sneak out with. Thankfully they couldn't exactly hide a whole keyboard under their jacket on the way out, so they just decided to not steal it, but the box was still essentially opened almost enough for the contents to fall out, they didn't even bother taping it back up. A 1080ti however, would be easy to slip into a jacket. They might pull it out of the conveyor belt and hide it somewhere then come pick it up later, potentially one card at a time until they get all cards.

I really wish newegg/amazon would stop labeling their boxes with newegg/amazon logo's, that would cut down hugely on stolen packages.

I ordered the MSI variant on newegg. Looks like I might be one of the people not getting it.

i worked at an Amazon sorting center part time for the holidays a few years ago There's an insane amount of security where there's just no way to do that, at least at Amazon. I mean i couldn't even take my phone in past the lockers and they took down my phones serial number for their records. Even had metal detectors.

This is how mine shipped from Newegg...

Looks like they don't just ship in big batches, but rather just every half hour or hour or so throughout the day. I think they wanted to get those 1080ti's out ASAP so they could make room for more stock coming in. After all, with as many as they were selling day 1, no reason to not ship as many as possible out. Pretty much all of the 1080ti's come from City of Industry, CA.....because it's off the coast where it ships in from manufacturers in asia. So it seems like 1080ti's in general got extra priority when it came to processing orders and getting them shipped.

Weird that I don't see your comment at the bottom until I quoted you. What type of shipping? Being that I did 2 day and it still hasn't hit a hub and its just about 7 p.m. I doubt I will get tomorrow. Lets not forget about the snow the east coast (where I am at) is about to get. :-( Sadness.

I did the 2 day since it was 50 cents more than the standard $15 3 day. But I did order the very first batch within 10 minutes after it went live, and my billing cleared almost immediately too, so they had their money.

I'd say east cost is 3 days minimum anyways. It is shipping from the west coast after all. You don't really count the first day they ship as that's not a full day.
