I believe the general consensus is actually under volt @1v I just use stock 1.063v for 24/7 but if you feel the need to squeeze every last Mhz the don't worry over volting will lead to automatic volt/MHz downclocking to maintain the power/temp target

he said he is using the xoc bios... so no, it won't automatically downclock as there is no power/temp targer on xoc bios

what advantage does the 1080Ti have over the old Titan X Pascal 2016 ? would it be wise in switching to the old titan x pascal 2016 from a 1080ti ? is this titan x better in overclocking ? i am using a zotac 1080ti amp extreme core edition and my chip is soo bad at overclocking frown.gif

No advantages besides better PCB components.

Reference Ti is much higher quality than Titan X Pascal

How terrible are we talking?
What clock speeds and voltage

well my 1080ti basically cannot be overclocked at all, it is a bad chip ...... all though it is decently factory overclocked out of the box, but if you slightly tweak it in any OC software it crashes

this is the one

That still doesn't tell us anything.

For all we know you card is 2100mhz out of the box.

Screenshot default clock speeds under load.

I was at ~2050Mhz@1.093V, and just tested superposition 4K benchmark at 2012Mhz@1.05V without any issues, raised my memory clocks to 6000Mhz. Still needs to test stability at that voltage.

Just got a MSI Seahawk 1080Ti....seems good so far. Any shortcomings on this model?

Planning on selling my 980s to upgrade to 1080/ 1080 TI. Anyone know of any Black Friday deals? Should I wait to see what Volta is all about before purchasing?

I just want 100FPS on 1440P. I don't game a ton, but I'm on at least 3 days a week for about 2 hours at a time currently (new to fatherhood tongue.gif). I however, don't want my 980s to lose their value before selling them so I'm on the fence of selling now and waiting to buy or waiting to sell right before buying. Advice?

here is the screenshot you asked for ....

the thing is i do not have the zotac 1080Ti amp extreme version, i have the zotac 1080Ti amp extreme CORE version which were chips intended for the amp extremes but they did not reach up to mark, so they rebranded these chips and named them amp extreme core edition ... my amp extreme barely has any decent waterblock, tbt i prefer EK and it has no overclocking potential ... with this titan x pascal 2016 i will be able to put a decent WB on it and probably able to OC it ... would i be doing the right thing ?
