[MONITOR] Acer X34p (21:9 3440x1440 100HZ G-Sync) - end of the April at latest according to Acer message. - Page 13

The whole monitor industry has been disappointing to me quite honestly speaking. I finally have everything for my first new build in over 5 years and the monitor is the only piece of tech still lagging. I guess I'll just have to sacrifice size and go with the PG27UQ when it's finally released. Not looking forward to the scaling, but it's the best option we have for next-gen hardware at this point.

i do have the XB271HU and 1440p at 27" height seems like the sweet spot to me. at the moment and i am considering a Z35 predator, or X34A predator, that's why i was asking. i guess i'd have to see the Z35 in person to figure this one out.

I would vastly prefer 1440p with a 35" monitor as well and was keeping a close eye on the omen x but it seems like there are some issues and i am not totally sold on only 100hz. I have been using 144hz monitors for years and going backwards seems counter intuitive.

i had the PG278Q (outdated signature), now i'm on the acer XB271HU and i only use them on 120Hz, because i don't see the difference between 120 and 144 and my rig does not hit even 120 all the time, so i have it capped via MSI AB on 90, so that my GPU (980ti) doesn't run so hot.

i think 100hz wouldn't be that much of a downgrade.

The X34p has officially been discontinued. They've now announced they're replacing it with the Z35P which is still 100hz and is a VA panel. Official link here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/predator-model/UM.CZ1AA.P01

On the surface, the Z35P appears to be a clone of the HP Omen X 35 and Agon AG352UCG, which I feel is a downgrade in every way apart from the 1" larger screen size versus the X34.

Agreed, without knowing more it appears to be the same panel. I followed the Omen thread for a while and what I read there made me decide I wanted nothing to do with it and as a result this Z35P. I guess I'll roll the dice on the X34A panel lottery when the time comes (unless something more appealing comes out in the ultrawide market in the near future).

Damn! I've been waiting for ever of the X34P release frown.gif
Source to that claim?
why would ANYONE want to downgrade the beautiful LG's X34 panel to that AUO nightmare from AGON/OMEN?

at least the AG352UCG is fairly cheap, as it should be, being essentially a big TN panel.
Any claims that the X34p has be cancelled last I heard it's now q1 2018 which will get to q4 2018 fast as this is basically vapor hardware at this point.

So the Z35P is inferior to the X34A from the panel perspective?
