Asrock Killer SLI/AC X370 cannot get higher than 2133 - Page 12

on voltages and LLC : as tested by buildozer (not sure on the name)(Taichi review) you should only use LLC 4/5 - as they are the best ones (1 is crazy bad) for my 3.9ghz overclock - I set 3900 - and set offset voltages (2nd set of voltages near LLC) to 17500 - which translates to +.17500 of my base of 1.18750 @ top clocks. (1.3625 by math) which is shown properly here :

thanks for the info, i really do appreciate it. Its unfortunate that the bios is so vague with the setting descriptions and it looks im more than likely going to have to research all these settings to figure out exactly what they are doing and why. I read some about LLC, but getting conflicting info. its safe now, but people still keep it off... im assuming the different levels let it drop less from idle to load as you increase the level from 4 to 1, 5 being disabled. But with a higher chance of a spike with the higher level when going from load to idle. thats what i got out what i read here ( http://www.overclock.net/t/1045018/what-does-llc-do-in-the-bios )

in the mean time i'll fool around with ryzen master.

thanks again thumb.gif

Looking at picking this up to replace my PNY Anarchy 2400MHz that BSOD's at 2133 still.

Any thoughts on this kit? 3000 vs 3200? More concerned with stability than speed.

Also considering this in the interest of saving money, but I do like the look of the LED's.

My PNY kit now works using XMP at 2400MHz on BIOS 2.1. Kit doesn't even support XMP officially and would BSOD constantly on all previous BIOS. Haven't tried overclocking it yet but my CPU has no problems at 3.9GHz 1.2875v and trying 4.0GHz right now.

BIOS options are getting better each update. Pretty happy with this board, just not that I had to wait nearly 2 months for my RAM to work at all.

I am running them @ 2933 14-14-14-36-1T (16-16-16-36-1T is simpler)
Bios 2.0

method : choose XMP profile - the reset the speed to 2933 (3200 won't boot for me, but perhaps some SOC voltage will help?)
scroll down make sure you have 1.35 V
then go to manually set the DRAM speed - 16-16-16-36-1T

done - I heard that some SOC voltage and a bit more DRAM voltage and they might hit 3200.

Anyone having audio issues with this board?

Well maybe its not the boards fault, but let me explain whats happening. The audio "stutter" like crackling happens only on youtube and only in these situations:

~When i first click on a youtube video, there will be a small crackle from the video and then it goes away.
~When i am browsing a forum on another tab. The only time i can get it to reproduce this is on mmochampion forum, say i click on "priest" sub section or whatever, there will be a small audio stutter when i do that.

I dont know if its the board to blame or a driver or what, but the only weird audio stuff happens on youtube and only in certain situations. If i am playing a game there are no weird audio issues, or watching a video on a different website, just youtube.

Quite annoying to say the least lol.

I just fired up pandora and clicked link to link real fast on mmochamp, no audio issues whatsoever. I guess this is a youtube problem?

Yes. I've gotten this as well recently as well as on a previous motherboard and fixed it the same way. Update drivers from AsRock directly first and also adjust your sound properties to use a different bitrate. I've found too high of bitrate can cause some crackliness like that. You're extremely unlikely to have audio equipment that would let you notice a difference, I use 24 bit 44100Hz.

Cool 2933 isn't bad:) was worrying they get stuck at 2133 lol

This time around wanted to give asrock a go instead of asus or gigabyte cause i cant afford a 200$ board this time around lol.. But the asrock looks like a solid board.

Wow i think that fixed it, i didnt reinstall drivers but changed from 48000 to 44000khz and i dont hear any crackling on youtube as of yet. I will definitely do the drivers soon too, as i am going to fresh install the creators update (dont have a lot of stuff on my pc atm, not a big deal).

Will update to let people know if this fixed it fully, seems to happen at random.
