Asrock Killer SLI/AC X370 cannot get higher than 2133 - Page 13

Just wanted to add this thread:
https://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/12589-windows-10-popping-sound-speakers.html

If the popping noise comes back i will try setting my min cpu state to 100%, i have it on HP mode with 5% min cpu state right now. I also heard disabling bluetooth entirely, or using generic windows audio driver can help too.

But so far, changing to 44000 seems to have fixed it (knock on wood)

Will update to let people know if this fixed it fully, seems to happen at random.

This is something that plagued me for over a year on my last motherboard and my sub would put off a noticeable pop. If it's working now and you have the Realtek drivers installed and not just generic High Definition Audio you should be good. thumb.gif I think a recent AMD GPU driver update or the W10 Creators Update changed it for me because I didn't have crackling until this past week.

Just wanted to ask which CPU temps sensor you're using. Seems the general consensus is the TCtl as reported by HWInfo.

If that's right, then the fan tuning sensor needs adjustment. You can set it to monitor CPU temp or Mobo temp and adjust accordingly. Wondered why my H100 wasn't keeping me under 60oC, turns out my CPU sensor maxed out at 45ish while TCtl is in the mid 60's. They need to fix that. The Asrock software does the same thing.

the Asrock is using Tdie/TCtl for CPU fan control (you have to choose CPU, not M/B in FANtastic)

I use that to control my "VRM" fans - it's worked the same since release - and matches with what HWiNFO64 says for temps.
my Kracken X62's software (as much as I dislike it) also uses the TCtl/Tdie.

so, I guess it's a configuration issue.

and on the sound thing - don't use ASRock's driver : use drivers from :

Not quite sure I follow.

I'm running the very first H100 with the pump plugged into the CPU header and 2 120MM 3 pin fans plugged into the CPU Opt and Chassis 3/Pump header. They're set in DC mode as they just max out if put in PWM mode. I don't have any software for the fans except the BIOS and the A-Tuning software. Everything scales fine and it's just that what my BIOS and A-Tuning thinks is the CPU temp is the sensor just labelled "CPU" when it should be on Tctl. I've rescaled my fans to the lower reading sensor but it's not ideal.

well, first off, my post was pointing out that the a-tuning "CPU" temp value matches across all software as the Tdie/Tctl for my 1700 - if you have a 1700x, or 1800x - you need to take into account the ~20C delta that you will see (actual temp is 20C less than stated) (I think that splits Tdie and Tctl) so the vaule is still right - just "wrong tongue.gif

2nd : the header you are using would have to be changed to DC mode as they are not PWM fans (that's why they max out when put into PWM mode) - I am not sure that any motherboard supports 3 pin fans properly anymore; I haven't had one in a many of year; so i wouldn't know.

3rd : I am not an expert - but shouldn't the pump and fans be on different headers (cpu and CPU opt) as you want to control those speeds separately.

Welp just installed 2.30 bios with the agesa update, ram is STILL stuck at 2400 no matter what i try. Starting to think some ram is actually incompatible with ryzen.

bump anyone had any luck with hynix chips with the newest bios 2.3? I can get to 2400 now but still cant get to the 2666 my memory is rated for. I am debating on buying new ram but currently the only good ram is the expensive ram

Nope still at 2400 on mine as well. I sent them a detailed email including video on my exact ram and processes on failing to get over 2400, havent hard back from asrock yet tho.
