My plan after building my Ryzen rig is to use a 1080ti to drive my LG OLED 55". I assume your intended interface is HDMI. Please let us know if there are any difficulties driving the TV.

Thanks.

Yup, using DVI to HDMI on the TV.

So far tried out Dark Souls 3, R6 Siege, Battlefield 1, Dying Light, and Arkham Knight. All getting 60+ FPS with all the settings up smile.gif 4k gaming on an OLED is a thing of beauty my friend. Exciting times ahead!

Nice! Thanks. I had the impression that the TV would run at 60 fps no matter what. So if you drive it to higher rates it tries to follow, at least a little?

I'm just waiting for the parts supply to settle down so I can acquire the remaining key components and put mine together.

I think he's saying he gets 60+fps while running the games at 4k. Not saying he TV actually shows anything more then 60fps.

Any type of LCD panel will only display up to what the screen and controller will allow hz/fps wise.

So no, if you have a 60hz TV you are not going to see anything beyond 60 fps.

Thanks for clarifying. That was my expectation, but I had also assumed that the LG TV would act like my HP ZR2440w IPS monitor and, via video monitor discovery (unsure what this is called), instruct the video card (for Linux via the xorg.conf file) that 60 fps was it no matter what. In other words, the calculated frame rate won't be higher than 60 Hz. This behavior may be dependent on the OS in use.

How well does The MSI 1080ti gaming x fit? I would like to fit the dust cover on if possible.
Thinking of getting msi 1080ti gaming x or Evga 1080 ti Sc2 gaming.
I have a Samsung 65'ks9000 and a Corsair 250 D.
I have a 970 MSI gaming That is gasping at 4K at the moment. Still manages though with settings turned down.
How are you getting on with your msi 1080ti?
