PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS is a last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback. Players must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a massive 8x8 km island to be the lone survivor. This is BATTLE ROYALE.
hoping to grab this game.. its in between Arma 3 and h1z1 i feel . Never really liked the arcade feel to h1z1 and never liked the toooo realistic arma 3.
I was going to get this game or Mass Effect Adromeda but i forgot EA love DLCs and i cant be bothered.
Arma 3 is good fun, the main game mode I play is King of the hill. H1Z1 is certainly more arcade like but the map is still massive and the action can be blood pumping, or brain cancer causing
Battlegrounds seems to be a nice mixture of the 2 and I can't wait to give it a go, I will just have to wait til the end of the month when it's released
I'm having a blast with this as well... I think I've only played one game like this and that's H1Z1... friend got me to try it and I think I only played 2 rounds total. But this game is addicting. I got owned for awhile but I'm starting to get a hang of the play style... got to get out of my BF1/CoD mode to play this.
Keep an eye out for campers in the common buildings such as house's. I had a guy kill me while i was searching for some weapons and ammo, he was hiding on the otherside of a door waiting for his victim to come through and bam, dead. So a word of advice: Back away from the door after you open it and wait a few seconds and if you hear movement, throw a grenade / stun grenade in.

ya it sucks to get camped like that. I always close doors behind me (at least the main outside doors) so most come running in not expecting anyone inside and I can hear them (usually) before they know I'm there. The key to victory in this game is patience.
It is pretty addicting at first. Still waiting for that to wear off but I'm still hooked. We'll see how long it takes for the hype to die down (or not) I suppose.
Edit: If anyone is interested in trying out duos or a squad add me on steam; see my sig below.
I find the game using all 8 of my threads and utilization varies but they all rise and fall around the same. Optimization is terrible though as even when all cores are floating around 30% my GPU is also around 30-50%
That memory speed made a massive difference for me.
I see about a 20FPS increase in most areas and the gameplay is much smoother overall.
Example:
spawning in in LOBBY I would see 55-60FPS while aiming in at the center of the water tower after first loading.
With the RAM speed increase I see 75-90 in the same relative location and I see a similar increase in most areas of the MAP now aswell.
The last game I played I didn't actually see a drop below 75 FPS that I can recall, and believe me I was watching it constantly.
I'll need to play a few more rounds to make sure but even during the airdrop I'd drop to 23-35 FPS at points and I didn't see that drop below 45
