[Various] Samsung 2017 monitor lineup - Page 24

I dislike the stand as well, looks stupidly huge.

Might be necessary to buy a vesa stand for this monitor. Problem is, such a panel is bound to be heavy. Vesa stands dedicated for panels weighing 8kg and more are usually pricey.

if it's VA, then we're set. Finally something other than those stupid AUO panels..

unanswered questions:
1. when? (I expect Q4 2017)
2. how much? (I expect 1000$)
3. was the purple trailing fixed for those panels? (probably not, but if they allow users to modify overdrive settings it may be possible to find a workaround).

If Asus gets any of these panels we'll have some of the best overdrive fine tuning you can get in a monitor.
I doubt Samsung took any feedback from customers to improve anything, and most of the "reviewers" for their current VA's didn't even notice any problems because they're actually just advertisers calling themselves reviewers.

We probably still won't be able to update the firmware either when they decide to release versions a few months later fixing issues.

Still waiting on a 32" g-sync CHG70 or SHG50 to hit shelves.

All I care about is the color scheme for the 49" CHG90 (need a new case, and would love to go with VR1 S if samsung also goes full apple as with 791) biggrin.gif

Do we have any idea when this CHG70 can be expected in shelves? The CH711 isn't even available until next week where I live.

Q4 probably. I'd say end of the year.

Thanks, think I'm going to get an 'ok' monitor to tide me over for the time being and then hope the monitor offerings are better in 2-3 years. At the moment it feels like every monitor, at least with high refresh rate, has some major fault or other.

Meanwhile, CH711 appeared in shops. The pricing is... not too good, but not too bad.. Ranging from 520 EUR to 660 EUR. It comes in two sizes, 27 and 32 inch. The 27incher is around 550EUR on average. The 31,5 inch monitor is 650 EUR.

I think it's safe to expect 1000+ EUR price for the CHG70 27inch, and 1200 EUR for the 31,5 inch version - IF they even come in different sizes.

So at the end i think this 1000+ EUR price for the CHG70 27inch, and 1200 EUR for the 31,5 inch version will be for 1440p VA HDR QD and Not 1080p such as SHG50 .

yes, it seems that after all CHG70 will be a 1440p VA panel. Just a quite expensive one.

Sadly there will be no non-curved VA. frown.gif
