I'm somewhat puzzled by the dressing up of TN panels for wide color gamut. It would be impossible to fully realize good color from one unless you are viewing it from say four times the normal distance. The other option would be if they are being "optimistic" about the response time of some other panel technology to a point beyond where anyone has dared before.

Um, not bad, but no point for me to upgrade from 165Hz IPS 27' G-Sync monitor just for HDR alone...

I was expecting some Ultra Wides with HDR and 120-144Hz

Dissapointed.

Not even 4K 32+ inches HDR G-Sync monitor/panel...

Sad, still waiting.

Where are you seeing TN? It's VA + strobing.

CFG70s are VAs these are coming after and are again VAs to my knowledge. TNs are dead unless you want to buy a cheaper 144Hz 1080p.
No way can TN do the color range of IPS/VA.

No idea where you're getting that Samsung is launching more TNs.

What Samsung needs is an issue free panel and monitor build with 144Hz IPS/VA at a reasonable price, so far they are bugged and cost three times as much as a Samsung IPS/PLS 60Hz of the same size. Ridiculous.
They gotta bring prices down and remove issues that make the CFG borderline unusable.

Samsung is pushing curved displays hard. Haven't they figured out from their TV sales that it is just a small niche market?

It's not actually the response time, it's 1ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time) whatever that means (probably having backlight strobing and reducing motion blur to 1ms of blur?) but according to pcmonitors.info review of the monitor it has a 4.14 MS input lag.

anyway still waiting for those self emissive quantum dot aka real qled or oled monitors... cya in 2025 guys

that 40" sounds pretty amazing but 32:9 sounds pretty ridiculous for vertical height. It would make out to be only a 22" 16:9 screen. So its very likely 1080p.

Imo its just too thin. While that much Desk space coverage by 1 monitor sounds fantastic, 21:9 is already thin for its diagonal. A 44" or so 21:9 would be perfect =)

But Right now I'm banking on buying a monitor 4-5 months down the road and keeping a eye on those 38" Ultrawides at 3840x1600 reso

Ah got it! Well 4ms sure isn't bad and that CHG70 is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I've been going back and forth on finding the right 27" 2k monitor for over a year and that one (with freesync) seems to check all the boxes.

I really like the idea of a 32:9 monitor. It's basically a double wide 16:9 which is less pixels to push than NV Surround but more panoramic than 21:9

Frankly, I've always wondered why NV Surround and Eyefinity don't have a mode that lets you only use 50% of your side screens.

This one does sound a bit small, but I heard there was a 49" in the works which would be about like two 25"+ screens. Now we're talking!

good luck finding games that support 32:9 aspect ratios.

Guess only LG is coming out with a 4k HDR freesync monitor.

I just wish Samsung and LG would give us price and release dates

Me too, and the text seem to suggest there will be flat versions later. But i will wait till i have Volta 80 TI or something similar from AMD to drive it. I might catch a cheap gtx 1080 this year, for my current VA Benq GW2760hs.
