Hi guys,

I was just wondering what was the best option out of these 2? as it comes to around the same price.

I know the A10 is R7 but nowhere tells you which R7 just thats its 866MHz or something around there.

However i also know that Vram is not everything when i comes to lower end cards. Anyone have any idea which would be the best option?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

PS il add a poll see what general consensuses is biggrin.gif

I'd probably avoid the R5 230 if possible.

What kind of games do you play?

Isn't the R7 250 like the exact same price, maybe $10 more?

OR browse ebay for a used 260 or 270? Unless it just has to draw the power from the motherboard

Spend $50 for a used 7850 2gb (R265x) off ebay or better yet $75 for a 7870 2gb (R270)

Its a much better bang for buck.

This is a complicated delima without better options. The ultimate answer is niether. The 8300 is an infinitely better CPU than the 7870k...but that gfx card you paired with it is a waste of money. Do not buy it! You would be much better off getting something used like the above member posted.

My advice is save some more dosh for a respectable gfx card and comb the used market for a deal.

Infinity is a pretty large number, especially when the 7870k is faster at 4 thread workloads. Also FM2+ contains a lot of newer chipset features than AM3+. That being said, clearly the 8300 is a better choice when working with additional threads.

Personally, I would buy neither.

My son uses a FX 8310 @ 4.4 and a 7850 2 gb. The system plays all his steam, origin, Uplay games as well as others at a nice frame rate and the cost was low..
Ryzen 5 is too close to recommend this any longer. Faster cpu with more cores for same price.

By the time he has enough money for a legit gfx solution...neither may indeed be the best option.

Im not sure i would personally spend $ on AM3+ or FM2+ platforms today unless i inherited one for free or on the cheap. It can be worth investing some into one you already have to keep it going...but to build it from scratch with new parts? I think there are better offers both now and on the horizon for a long term solution that will last you 5 years or more...not get you by maybe another 2 out of an aging hardware solution. Fine wine or not, there are other options and many are subjectively better for most peoples needs.
