Zowie EC series special gloss edition - Page 11

I've been "torturing" the ec2a glossy white for 2 weeks now and it's still as new (torturting = no cleaning hands before using, using the mice right after eating orange/other acidic food ...etc). So in term of durability it's quite good. Not brave enough to test the coating again my cat's claw but I'm pretty sure no mice would survive that anyway tongue.gif.

Still one major downsize for the thick coating is that it retains heat, and it's quite noticable. If your hands can notice some mice increased heat with the led on then you'll surely notice the same with the Ec2a. Holding the mouse for a long time is quite uncomfortable for me, especially since it's summer here; taking short breaks in between works though.

That sounds pretty good! And i think the heat "problem" could also be a plus for people who often have cold hands like myself.

What do you think, how good/bad is the glossy finish for people with sweaty hands? Some people say it gives even more grip, some say its barely usable then. Sometimes my hands are very dry and sometimes i sweat very heavily so i'm not sure if the white version will be better than the black one for me.

I'll probabply get one as it seems to be the most comfortable mouse out there for palm grip. I liked the Zowie Scroll Wheels aswell, as i use it for weapon switching ingame and often fail with other scroll wheels (apart from the G Pro, which has one of the best scroll wheels out there imo). But sadly all of my Scroll Wheels from my previous Zowies wore out after using it for a longer time and i agree, it's pretty bad for scrolling in browsers.

Not very pleasing to the eye imo: white shell with black side buttons and cable is fine. But the same red logo and pinkish glowing wheel looks disgusting af. Not to mention the light on the right side shining through the coating.

Yes they do, even the Finalmouse Scream One disaster doh.gif .

Hated flushing away money on that purchase, could of gotten another two G403's a far better model, at a cheaper price here in Convict Town.

People don't really regard the aesthetics of their mouse, a thing they rarely look at and is obscured by the hand, very highly.

On the other hand, I see what you are saying. It seems, all things being equal, this should look a little better. I'll pick one up, but ever since the Benq adoption, this brand has stagnated. It's sad, because they have awesome shells. It doesn't seem like much work was put into this limited edition...

Benq, of all people, should have had the money to pour into EC/FA/FK 3360. Why did they buy the brand? Kinda depressing. Just forms that will never go anywhere? Is there some sensor late to market we aren't aware of?

yes, very Speical edition

What would've been a real special edition is a 3360 version that you can get early by...buying the white version...while they refresh the rest of the lineup, but it's Zowie so that's not gonna happen.

That site is shady as hell. I bought a mouse once from there and they shipped it in a paper envelope and the Zowie box came crushed.

They also withheld their stock on EC2-A during the shortage and were reselling them on eBay for like $100+ each. Extremely shady considering they're an official reseller, or were last time I checked. His ebay account is here.

Go here, and ctrl+f "ec2-a". I'm guessing they provided him stock and he knew there was a shortage. So instead of listing on his site for $60, he was flipping them on eBay for like $100- $140.

They were also selling "not for resale" zowie bungees. The ones Zowie was giving away as limited time promotion when you buy a mouse. He was stripping them from the bundle and reselling the bungees by themselves. He even still has some listed listed on his site with a picture saying they're not for individual sale, lol.

Don't do business with them.
