I paid for mine well over a month ago and received sweet F.A. madsmiley.png

Never knew they would spray paint it in white, instead of simply re-casting the body from a glass smooth mould-shape instead. Companies are becoming lazy these days, far cheaper for them to paint than to construct an actual smooth casing for their products.

Suspect the paint will peel and fall off over time....

I have a g pro and beq EC2-A too, but I just can't agree. I use EC2-A at home for game and g pro in the office. G pro plastic feels way better for me. I would gladly get EC2-A in a G pro plastic. In general g pro feels good against sweat and overall it feels like it is as durable as nokia 3310, but EC2-A - gets dirty really easy, very bad against sweat and while I don't have any build quality issues - it just feels much cheaper compared to g pro.

Can agree with the sweat/dirt/grease. It's way more prominent on those matte coatings like Zowie uses than on plastic like Logitech.

True be there are still all these shape guys they are happily using their zowies right now..if they dropped one with with an updated sensor the majority of these people would be instant sales for the new mouse. Also the market is very competitive...you're not going to win many new customers if you have a reputation for using outdated tech.

I mean comparing a color change to a sensor change is almost silly but they're obviously putting effort into new stuff, maybe as little as possible, ..they just need to concentrate on the right stuff...

Zowie Gear made their white mice by using white plastic and a gloss coat after molding. I have no idea what BenQ are doing.

It's decent, among the thickest among the glossy mice. I've been "torturing" the ec2a glossy white for 2 weeks now and it's still as new (torturting = no cleaning hands before using, using the mice right after eating orange/other acidic food ...etc). So in term of durability it's quite good. Not brave enough to test the coating again my cat's claw but I'm pretty sure no mice would survive that anyway tongue.gif.

Still one major downsize for the thick coating is that it retains heat, and it's quite noticable. If your hands can notice some mice increased heat with the led on then you'll surely notice the same with the Ec2a. Holding the mouse for a long time is quite uncomfortable for me, especially since it's summer here; taking short breaks in between works though.

it's not very apparent when(that) glossy coating wears, because the ABS under it will be glossy as well. arguably that's a plus of glossy finishes rolleyes.gif
there are exceptions of course, some coatings can peel off because they hadn't been bound to the plastic underneath.

glossy finishes should be fine against human nails. i wouldn't try cat's though biggrin.gif
