How To Get Voltage Slider In Afterburner Working On a 1080 Ti.

If you are having trouble PM myself and I'll make an .oem2 file if you try and it doesn't work for you.

Afterburner 4.4.0 NOT beta has been released.

https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner

redface.gif

If you click the cog icon, make sure Enable Hardware Control and Monitoring, Enable Low level IO Driver, Enable Low Level Hardware Access Interface 'Use Mode', Restore Settings After Suspended Mode, Unlock Voltage Control 'Third Party' and Unlock Voltage Monitoring are all checked.

Do below if Afterburner beta does not work for you.

Go to c:\Program Files (x86)\MSI AfterBurner\
Open MSIAfterburner.oem2 in a text editor and add the card to third party database yourself and save at the very bottom of all the text in the file.

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

You will notice the part bolded, the Subsys_ID. This can change per BIOS/Brand. In AfterBurner just click the 'I' (information) button, to read out your proper string and replace the bolded part with what is listed under the information button (if it differs).

Afterburner select third party voltage control mode in properties and adding the following will do the trick.

Just replace the text between '1B06&' and '&REV' from the 'I' Info and leave the rest as is from the 'I' (Info) button in Afterburner.

So for example and EVGA Ti FE the 'I' button says.

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_63903842&REV_A1&BUS_2&DEV_0&FN_0]

So for EVGA in the .oem2 file in the MSI Programs folder right at the very bottom of all the text in the file you add:

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_63903842&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

Reference cards should be and most others should be

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

I'm adding .zip files for reference cards and EVGA here.

Right click on zip, choose Properties, and Unblock, then unzip.

Try this one first.

WildCard.zip 1k .zip file

If not, this one.

MSIAfterburner.zip 1k .zip file

EVGA, this one if first one doesn't work.

EVGA.zip 1k .zip file

Afterburner select third party voltage control mode in properties.

VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

and

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

Select the card in Afterburner, click the 'I' info button, replace in the .oem2 file SUBSYS_120F10DE with the part in the 'I' button between

VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06& and &REV_

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1

Replace that in bold.

If you are running them in SLI you might want to try adding both lines but I'm not 100% sure about that.

If it has SUBSYS_120F10DE in the MSI card "I' button then it should be correct.

Add the correct lines at the BOTTOM of the all text in the.oem2 file. with a space between both entries. Let me know if it works for other peeps here.

No, but if you're under water you may get one or two bins of a better overclock.

MSI Afterburner database files support wildcard symbol "?". Which means that you can simply define one section with wildcards mapped to any subsystem ID instead of creating personal sections for any vendor-specific ID:

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_????????&REV_??]
post #10 of 126
i can confirm that using the wildcards works also.
