Not my cup of tea but every single CM case I have ever used has had great airflow...I can see why you prefer to keep it for the new rebuild. I think it is going to come down to Caselabs for me.

I can understand you there, mainly for me it is the expense, my last build costed me a lot, and this one, even without things like the PSU and the water cooling equipment is also going to set me back a fair amount. I also like the Cosmos 2. The case I had before it was the Corsair 600t, the only problem I had there was that it simply wasn't large enough to fit my entire build, I liked the aesthetic so I gravitated to the Cosmos because it featured a similar shape.

I hear you there...with the spec sheet I have in front of me we are talking approx $7000 bucks US for everything including monitor (I put in an $1800 dollar price tag in that 7K for the new ASUS 4K Quantum Dot panel because it can't be more than 2 grand surely). If I go with a CL chassis that will be around for the next few builds at minimum...same with the monitor.

What was the price difference on the binned CPU? I was thinking of going the same route but have never bought a binned CPU before. Is the Intel warranty gone if I do and if so is there a place that offers their own warranty?

Also can someone who already has this board on hand do a full I/O test please. I am concerned about complaints from reviews saying the thunderbolt port has issues with connectivity due to the integrated shield being a bit too far from the actual ports. The people making the complaint said they literally had to hold the cable in place to keep a connection. It would be a shame if this was the case overall and not just a bad batch...I need that port. This is the only complaint I can find about this mobo period so far which is good overall but again I do need that port to function and prefer not to have to ghetto rig it.

I bought a i7 7700K overclocked to 5.1ghz. It cost about $410 or $50 over retail. I paid an additional $50 for him to delid the CPU. In my instance the CPU shipped the afternoon that I bought it. Got a tracking number from USPS that afternoon. Took 2 days to get it to my house.

https://siliconlottery.com/collections/lga-1151/products/7700k51g

I didn't see the point in getting a cpu that would OC to 5.2ghz because I am never going to run it at the 1.4volt that requires.

You should contact Silicon Lottery to ask about their warranty. I've heard that Intel will still honor their warranty even if the CPU is delidded but I do not have first-hand experience with that. I have never needed a warranty replacement and I only delidded to get cooler temps. Not to get a better OC.

Wow that sounds well worth the extra $100 as I would be a bit nervous doing the dellidding myself as I never have. I have only killed one chip which happened to be Intel(used more of those though so that makes sense) out of quite a ton so I guess worrying about the warranty is something I should revise my thinking on...just a habit. I would be totally happy with a flat 5.0 thumb.gif
