[Anand Forum] AMD launching "X399" HEDT Zen platform 2H 2017 - Page 7

I thought theres a Ryzen R9 missing from the beginning biggrin.gif

the 16c cpu will be for consumers, but me thinks that we will be able to drop on x399 board top of the line 32core opterons. + superb perf/wat ratio of ryzen = lots of sales in professional market.

Yeah, I will be impressed if it can maintain the base clocks of the 8 cores. I seriously doubt it will reach the same sort of max frequency of the 8 cores but it may have single core boost speeds similar to the 8 cores.

With stock settings, sure. It will be TDP limited. But as long as it's not locked the limit would be the same. (Unless the binning practice is changed and we are forced to play silicon lottery differently?)

To call it X399 or whatever is missing the point. I'll bet you money its going to be the

Ryzen R9 1900x

They launched R7's, and have r5's coming.

GPUs are r9, r7, r5.... :-D

Well given the issue with current ryzen memory oc issues of 2sticks vs 4 its probable they wont be pushing very far on quad channel in regards to frequency. So either way ill just wait for 720p Benchmarks to be let down. I was really hoping to play arma 3 on a single thread at 300x600

Isn't that on a different socket with different memory interface config? The Opteron is 8 channel per socket.

tbh with you, if the x399 will hit on h2 those cpus might be in production already, maybe even prepared for shipping now. They wont change a thing because its to late now so i would assume that ryzen flaws will be carried over to hedt version.
