Phase 1.03 - Test Fitment

Testing of product placement is still going on. I received some more parts and swapped out the bottom radiator with a slim cross port - Hardware Labs Nemesis 560GTS XFLOW. The EK-RES X4 250 (R2.0) did not cut it for this build. My initial concerns was with the mounting bracket as it does not secure the res as much as I would like. It sits in place, but there is a lot of room to wiggle as the clamps just hold it in place via gravity. I did not want to have any hardware vibrations that may introduce noise, so I sent them back.

I did some digging for inspiration, and contacted @Costas for input after reviewing his Down Under build. He was kind enough to provide some tips regarding his Parallel res setup and gave me to okay to plagiarize it! biggrin.gif

GPU Block and Active XCS Backplate also came in, these things are mighty purdy and come shrink wrapped - talk about awesome! eek.gif

I noticed that as well.

When I first saw the setup, I did a little research regarding the flowmeter in use and determined you've got to be careful which model you choose with respect to max-temps. Choose a version not rated for higher temps (e.g., 50°+ C) and you might find yourself in trouble someday (though I'm only speculating there),

Added: just in case someone wants to take a look at flowmeters similar to the one in this setup: Dwyer Series VF Visi-Float® Acrylic Flowmeter.

In regards to the clearance issues a 560 fits with (just) some room to spare.. Bitspower do have a fairly small 90 degree fitting which I had to use in my build to clear one of my 560's.

Phase 1.04 - Test Fitment

I made a little progress on Saturday and mounted a few parts - talk about tight bends! Since I'm not much for words, I'll let the pictures to the rest of the talking. smile.gif

Aye sir, credit given where due. Costas' build is simply too good.

The flow meter is too awesome an idea. I couldn't do a 1:1 copy as the original idea is always the best.

Aaaand the big guy himself is here. Much honoured and thank you for your help!
I did look over your build log extensively and even did the drop mod as well.

However, my fatal mistake was that the HWLabs rads are about 10mm wider than the Alphacools you utilized. In the end, I went with a slim xflow radiator that worked quite well!

Phase 1.05 - Test Fitment - Complete

I finished plumbing the basement and test fitted all components. Next steps will be to finish wiring and then onto pressure testing with an Aquacomputer Dr. Drop. smile.gif
I went overkill on the drainage system and stuck a valve every location where water could accumulate.
ColdZero also designs a great backplate for my ZXR sound card. Well worth investment in terms of aesthetics and postage fee - Love it!

The GTS560 XFLOW is great in this lower chamber as it does not obstruct my ports going from and to the upper chamber. It also helps to greatly reduce tubing clutter downstairs... where ultimately, the cables take over! biggrin.gif

I feel you on cable management down there, it's a mess in my build too! I can't do custom cables to save my life, so I just bundle whatever I can and zip-tie to the whatever panels can hide them best. guitar.gif

Oh yep, I got custom cables etc. but still I have issues. Loads of acrylic, dual pumps for my dual loop. My aquaero etc. Its a complete mess and when I have issue's I pray I don't destroy anything.
Maybe I missed it, but where is your auaero gonna be located? And also, why did you put a fan in the bottom section in front of the case? biggrin.gif

Due to the front 360 and bottom 560 rads, I could not mount the Aquaero to a flexbay slot. I improvised and took the screen off to put it near the PSU as per below. The fan is to help direct the hot air from the bottom rad towards the back where I installed the ventilated PSU cover. Also, I think it looks nicer with 4 fans in the front as opposed to 3. biggrinsmiley.gif
