Ok, so I was finally happy with my setup, and haven't touched any settings for several days and now... it's dead?

Everything was working fine last night, I haven't touched anything, turned the computer off. This morning when I wake up, computer won't turn on. Take the side panel off, the power light on the motherboard isn't even on. Unplug everything, press power button, wait several hours, still doesn't work upon re-connection. mad.gif
Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5, Build is "Alicorn" in my Sig.

Yes, the PSU switch is on.
I've tested the PSU using the "short the green wire to black" method, and it turns on, I can hear my disk drive / hard drives spin up.
I've tried Resetting the BIOS, even though that shouldn't make a difference, since the power light isn't even lit.
I've tried switching the the backup BIOS, just in case, still no difference.
EDIT: Also tested PSU with psu tester, all rails seem fine.

Is there any chance my Motherboard really has spontaneously died overnight?

All I did to bring it back was:

* Pull the power cable
* Remove CMOS battery

* Put them back in.

Same problem here with Gigabyte B350M-Gaming 3... Everything was working fine last night, and this morning won't turn on.
No power whatsoever, even Asus Strix RX480 power indicator led is not lit.
I had to go to work so there was no time to troubleshoot, but i will give it a try with removing CMOS battery.

Funny story... this MBO is replacement that i got for the same one that i had to RMA two weeks ago for the same fu****g thing. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I'm really hoping it's something that can be patched by a BIOS update, and that they do so soon. Does anyone know how we can report this / say "me too" to an existing report of this to make sure they know about this?

I've got the problem for me pinned to HWiNFO64 causing it somehow *I think.* But I have no real proof yet, and am trying to pin it down to it definitly being something that does....

I don't know if I should blame the motherboard or I just got a bad overclocking chip but I just cannot get past 3.9Ghz. I got 3.9 with 1.325v, and I can't get 4.0 with 1.45. I bumped up the voltage as far as I could until it hit TJMax during the P95 stress test. At other voltages like 1.45, the screen goes black but the computer stays on. I hope it's related to the motherboard and it can be fixed via BIOS updates, if not then, well, I can live with it because the CPU is still faster than my old 6700k. Talking about the 1800x.
BTW, Here's my rig.

I can run my 1700 @ 3.9 with 1.3... but so far have run into the same black screen @ 4.0. I haven't tried quite as high voltage and I never tried 4.0 on the other motherboards I had.. so I can't say if it's just how my chip is or the board I currently have. I have a different brand coming next week for a bit.. so I'll see how it does.

Unlike you... my rig doesn't look remotely close to that nice. Beautiful build...

I need up to 1.500V for 4.0Ghz stable with Realbench 1hour. With less voltage you can use the computer and game but don't use stress tests. 3.95Ghz is IBT AVX stable around ~1.477V. Everyday 3.95Ghz might need only ~1.452V.

For the moment using ~1.477V for 4.0Ghz for everyday tasks and games. Daily usage hasn't seen yet a crash with the lower voltage.

I got a Gaming K5 on Monday, really nice board for the money (with BCLK adjustments). Will post some images later of the setup, but I haven't had any of these soft brick issues on BIOS F2. I have multiple "charging" USB devices attached as well (saw some mentions that could be a possible cause) these include random android phones and a Razer Mamba wireless mouse.

I have same problem. Everything worked fine, turned off PC. Hour later it won't start, did troubleshooting on everything but it seems like its the motherboard.

Got a Gaming k7 with a 1700x on official F3
Can hit 3.8-3.9 with 1.356v (decided to use 3.825ghz as a daily driver)
Can get xmp 3200 with G.Skill TridentZ cl 16 2x8gb SK Hynix stable with a combination of VSoc 1.2 and 1.4v vDRam (but stepped down to 29.33 for the moment til new bios comes out, didn't trust high voltages so waiting for the AGESA and bios for May)

https://valid.x86.fr/jbd0ym

So far so good.

For more in-depth gaming k7 tweaks and findings, @op might want to add this to 1st post.
