All boards get painted since like forever but they do NOT need screen printing.

Like 5 people have seen my pc in 5 years. Guess what they didn't say? Pffft no leds or screenprinting?

It's not so much that other people will see your PC and go gaga over it. As far as I'm concerned, every person has something, any one thing, that we care about the appearance of. It may matter to some. It might not matter to others. For some people, their PC might be their pride and joy. Who knows? Either way, it's to add something fun to your gaming/computing experience. Some people just don't like that.

I just like to look into my PC from time to time just to look at it. I do the same thing with my bike. Sometimes I go out to the garage just to look at it. I don't see why that's such a bad thing?
Nope they are using aesthetics to get dopes to buy products using substandard parts
post #34 of 52
What parts are substandard again?
You should get out read a bit more.

Plenty of threads with info.

Yeah, I admire my hi-fi system sometimes. Just turn on all the components and sometimes watch the VU meters go on my tape decks.

I've been buying motherboards without LEDs since forever, and I have come across some substandard ones too. Honestly, I would like to think the majority of enthusiasts would know better anyway than to buy something that wasn't worth their time quality-wise.

Its just whining that people like me actually do care and do want their PC's to look nice in addition to performing great. Don't like the lights, don't turn them on. Simple.

So some of us not wanting features useless to us and would rather that money be invested into something more worthwhile for our setup is whining? Hmm interesting view you have there. Can't wait to see how you react when you're on the other side.

Its not a zero sum game. Having good aesthetic features does not mean a board has crappy performance. Most of the high end boards have good everything including aesthetics. There's just no justification for skimping on anything.

Revamped the old X5680 recently a bit, it's not pretty but has some good airflow after i rearranged things a bit. Simplified it a bit actually.

It's closed 24/7 usually anyway.

A lot of Ryzen problems with MOBO's seem to have revolved around a bit of a lack of info from AMD I thought I had seen on a few sites, but I could not quote anything specific.

I can't really see why this is an issue..High end users firstly check the specifications of any board and then the price/performance ratio to make a decision..

Aesthetics are a must in my book-I like to look at my rig and have everything inside match as much as I can(it's an OCD thing), but not at the cost of performance..

I can't really picture in my head any "adult" buying a motherboard just for the bling , and of course you know that RGB Leds is an option(much like SLI-Crossfire,albeit of much lower importance) and can be used only if you want to and can be turned off on the spot..And generally it's better to have more options on your board so that you might get to use it in the future, otherwise everybody would have mini ITXs in mid towers or something..

And from personal experience , I've had the same amount of old simpler design m/b go bad as newer, more "high end" ones..

It all comes to personal preferences on how your rig can look/perform..

Different strokes for different folks...
