PCI-E lanes bandwidth in SLI - Page 2

"unprofessional people" (including myself)
because in the linked review they show that there is little difference between x8 and x16
instead you show us that the difference is big (76 -> 95)
so somebody is not doing his job preperly

benchmark VS in-game
benchmark are made so to show always exactly the same frames
so it's possible to compare results
while in-game you can NOT have exactly the same frames, never; unless you use the game's benchmark

I've been playing the game, and consistently see the same results, I don't know what else to tell you biggrin.gif maybe this game utilizes more lanes? How am I supposed to know why it's like this? Frankly I don't care anymore!

This is the exact reason I ended up selling my intel 750. I've researched this topic a lot and very few x99 boards have proper lane assignment where sli + 750 are all running at full speed and the crazy thing is it's all cheaper boards, such as the gigabye x99 up3. Most higher end boards end up sharing bandwidth with other slots, which is asinine on a 40 lane cpu. In retrospect, had we both picked up the u.2 version, instead of the pcie one, this would be much simpler.

Anyway, if you're curious, here's some testing that I've done on x16/x8 vs x16/x16.
