I am getting about the same at 1440p on "high" with a 290x

Are you using the latest driver ?

It could be interesting to see what adjusting tessellation does to the FPS. I normally turn it down to 8x or less when games are running <60 FPS on my Fury.

I know there are several instances where this game loads the CPU. I'm not sure if this is necessary or poor programming, but I always lean towards the later.

Yes I am, I admit though, I haven't played through pretty much any of the game, this was just messing around in the very first area in the ship after you get woken up.

That is how it will perform for most of the game , I am quite happy with it on my 290x although one area on the ship near the galaxy map it drops like a tank for some reason

I can stick the textures up to ultra too without much of a performance hit.

I am using a 8350 4.6 ghz and a GTX 690 with a 1080i TV. I don't see a problem, besides it will occasionally flicker like the gpus are arguing over which pallet to use. This happens only you 1st power up and is never seen again. But hey using 40 inch screen for a desktop monitor is fun. biggrin.gif

Kind of, their SLI support added in their driver is just AFR...

So one of my cards died a few weeks ago so wasn't going to pick this up until I got a replacement, but decided to see how my old single 290x handled the game @ 1600p.

With a little tweaking, SSAO, Shadows medium, med motion blur, effects high, everything else ultra, colour me impressed.

Lowest framerate in gameplay is 31fps, vsync off, 60fps cap.

The cut scenes are a bit all over the place though, but not really concerned about that.

Just finished the desert planet, eros r whatever it is called.

Have to say I really like the game. I've only played on the most recent patch, but overall it looks nice and the combat works well.

this game runs like a$$ on my 1000mhz 290
barely 50-55fps on high 1080p
if I want to keep 60fps constant I have to drop half of the settings to medium mad.gif
maybe OCing it to 1150/1600 will help a bit but I'm on reference cooler tongue.gif
