I just think devs are getting lazy with optimizing their games. Look at mgs5 or the new resident evil which both ran beautifully and look better than this game.

We saw this with other games, AMD optimizing only 4xx series with "game ready" drivers, than later older cards were optimized.Maybe this time it won't be the case b/c AMD is working on Vega, who knows, but I expect 3xx series to perform much better.

1080ti's can do 4k60 on games that those GPU's ran at ~25fps

I played the trial and see that list. My 290X Lightning (17.3.2 drivers) is smooth as butter sitting at 58-64fps at 1440p Ultra. 1080p Ultra is even better. Cpu is a i7-4770K at 4.0ghz. Game looks amazing and plays nice and smooth for me. I know DA:I was able to use Vulcan but not sure if ME:A is capable/setup as well.

I'd love to play in 4k but would need some upgrades to play as smooth as I'd like.

There's no way you're getting an average of 58-64 on ultra at 1440p with a single 290X. Unless you are taking that average while staring at the floor. That's basically GTX 1080 levels of performance.

As long as you dont' have your heart set on all of the sliders to the right, it gets pretty close. Not sure even 2 1080ti's can maintain that min of 60fps with everything at the maximum settings. Maybe after a performance patch or two.

When people say "ultra" or "max" take that with a grain of salt in most cases. The ultra preset in the game isn't "max" settings. If you select custom, there are higher than ultra settings.

That is why we call it AMD Fine Wine. On a more serious note, give it a few weeks for bugs and drivers to address frame rate issues.
