The cards:
GTX 1080 FE with Evga hybrid mod.
2025MHz flat during testing.
GTX 1080 FE TI normal cooling with custom fan curve (60c = 60% fan etc)
1939MHz after 5 minute warmup time.
Results:
Unigine Heaven, 4K, all maxed.
1080 - 27.7 fps
1080 Ti - 39.9 fps
1080 Ti - 44% faster
Unigine Valley, 4K, all maxed.
1080 - 32.9 fps
1080Ti - 45.8 fps
1080 Ti - 39% faster
Fallout 4, Diamond City, TAA on, HBAO+ on, Godrays off
1080 - 54 fps
1080 Ti - 72 fps
1080 Ti - 33% faster
That's all I had time to test for now. But the conclusion is clear. The larger memory bandwidth of the 1080 Ti really does well at 4K.
