Anyone out there with this board and RAM running at 3200MHz? I've tried and tried with some GSkill 3200C16D, but have only been able to POST at 2400.

The RAM is on their QVL list, however when I contacted Asrock I was told,
"contact GSkill and ask for setting , we have tested with different manufacture and do not have any problems"

That is literally the entire email I got back from their CS after contacting them. I'm wondering if maybe I need to clear CMOS after the BIOS updates? New to RAM overclocking and need a kick start in the right direction, although I'm leaning towards this memory just not playing nice.

Edited to try and make this easier to read with the quote.

It is a mobo bug right now with the new platform that is being worked on. Upgrade your Bios, if a new version is available, which may help with your problem. Nothing you can do but wait.

It's a recurring problem with every motherboard manufacturer.

The RAM sticks being sold are pretty much made for Intel Z170 / X99 except for the G Skill Flare X / Fortis

Well, that sucks. Understandable though; I had been watching the Asus thread and it seemed like people were having decent luck but support has been really good on Asus' end.

Otherwise, if anyone happens to be wondering the boards been good to me, so was hoping I was just derping something obvious. I can say the Asrock board doesn't quite have the BIOS options that the Asus does. For instance, no DRAM boot voltage and no profiles. Nothing truly heart breaking, but being able to save profiles would be great. Running an 1800X at 4.0GHz@1.376 with LLC2, voltages and temps haven't been outrageous but it isn't like I've brought my volt meter home from work and pinned it out yet so it could be inaccurate still.

Same here with my Asrock Fatality pro gaming and 1800x. 3200 cl14-14-14. I have Corsair 4000mhz 2x8GB. Samsung IC

Yuuup, established that over in the motherboard thread last night I believe. I have some 3200CL14 on the way from Newegg so will report back on RAM speeds when they arrive and how they work. Good time to be a RAM Manufacturer. Hopefully I can pawn these C16 sticks to a friend that just built a Z270 system.

My max OC under water with 1800x and Asrock Fatality pro in Cinebench:

Too bad we can't use memorydevider to get over 3200mhz on the memory.

Pretty much the same unless you like the looks of 1 over the other. I chose the Asrock because I like the looks and it includes WiFi + BT 4.2 which the Asus does not.

I've had a decent experience with my gaming pro so far. RAM speeds were the only kicker and that's everyone unless you ordered something known to work at your target speed.

BIOS wise, it works and gets the job done. Not as many options as the CH VI yet and there doesn't appear to be a way to save an OC/stable profile. The last board I had was a MSI X79 GD65-8D and the BIOS on that thing drove me nuts to no end, so I can't really say it's good or not compared to current Intel or prior AMD. I haven't had a BIOS updates feel sketchy or take forever on this board (the Asrock) either.

Yesterday I bought a new motherboard - Fatal1ty X370 - so far nothing interesting, testing stuff, etc.

My first biggest and most disappointing thing is that I cant download Bios, Drivers from asRock homepage, all the time and with all browsers I get errors ''Failed - Network Error'' etc or just freeze in half of download...
Very disappointing.

While I was writing this down I discovered one bug. I accidentally put my computer in sleep mode, and when I tried to wake it up , it automatically shut down, basically was in coma. i hard reset, nothing helped, then the solution was to turn of power cord and plug back.

My specs:
1700x
Fatal1ty X370 (1.55)
32GB cursair LPX 3000mhz

Also if you run 32GB RAM it is likely going to be dual rank which means it cannot run at 2666MHz.

I'd advise flashing from BIOS directly instead of Windows. I have no problem downloading from Asrock's site.
Wonder if I can run all 4 of my 8GB sticks @3200 CAS 14. Got no problems with 2 @ those speeds. It's a quad channel kit.

Yes, sorry I have X370 Fatal1ty Professional.

So far im not played with RAM settings, just leaved it as low as 2133 and test system for overall stability etc becoze i need to finish one important rendering cant risk right now...

In AsRock forums guys helped me out, so most of Network lag was from fact i was using Aquantia 5G after i switch back to Intel adapter things got a lot better.

I've got 2x8GB G.Skill TridentZs running right now, Samsung die BUT I just happen to have 2x16GB G.Skill RipjawV F4-3200C16D-32GVK sitting right here as well.

I probably won't have time to mess around with them today, but I'll try to get around to trying them out over the next day or so...

That said, I also need to update the BIOS as I've got it on 1.50 ATM HOWEVER I understand that a new agesa was recently released so I might delay monkeying around UNTIL ASROCK coughs up another beta as I doubt it'll be release w/new agesa for them to start testing on all over again...

I must say that I'll be a bit miffed if the rumors of HEDT X390/9 and 12/16c 24/32t variants are imminent as TBH, initially I thought that the dual channel bandwidth would be enough for 8c/16t but seeing somethings is making me rethink that back to my original what-were-they-thinking dual channel memory for >4c? Not mention I'm still in the only 16xPCIe lanes plus 4x for chipset what-were-they-thinking?

Originally I had though of holding out for Naples and doing a server/workstation buis as, as I've mentioned elsewhere I'm more interested in cores/threads and will be utterly peachy with 30+ FPS in games, I'd just rather be able to compile a kernel in seconds, and heandle other heavily threaded workloads more quickly.. I guess I didn't do enough research, and well after being parked on a 3930k/2011 for something like 7y I got overanxious to do a new primary desktop.

That said I'm not really at all disappointed as even in the few lighter games that I've tried so far performance(haven't benched) 'feels' 'smoother' HOWEVER I also did upgrade my GPU from a 780 Ti to a 1070 FTW(got a stellar deal after newegg screwed me on a RAM order) along with the 1800X. Threaded workloads are also noticeably faster and in limited benching @ stock compared to the 3930k (stock 3.2GHz) taking into account base clock rate differences even single threaded perf is a marked improvement over that 6c/12t sandy bridge and well, multi-threaded just blows it out of the water but still... HEDT I had an inkling I should've waited, maybe this'll be the first time that I turn around and sell the desktop to replace it w/HEDT or naples. Normally I keep my old builds, e.g. 3930k to use a servers, etc.

I'm also wishing that we had known earlier that ECC RAM is actually supported... I suspected as much figuring that AMD would have few designs w/few changes between low end -> server but wasn't positive given that I KNEW Naples would HAVE to be at least quad channel memory, so they might've sprung for further changes.

The gamin pro is a nice board though and TBH it was my first choice along with the Taichi X370(aesthetics) but I pre-ordered the C6H from Amazon on pre-order day(2/22) which apparently wouldn't have shown up until 3/24. Last weekend I ran out to the ucenter and nabbed their only gaming pro in stock(well had held for pickup along w/a taichi). Pro won out as I'm expecting fiber to be lit up here any day now(laid last spring), so a builtin 5Gbps ether would save me a bit. My biggest down w/Pro/Taichi are the 802.11ax card that ASROCK used. The cheapest that you can get, however I have an 8265(867Mbps IIRC v. 433Mbps on shipped card) here that I bought planning to use w/C6H when I had it on pre-order w/Amazon, so not a total waste. I'd rather that ASROCK made the wifi m.2 easier to get at and left it EMPTY as the card they used retails on the highend for $5 -> they probably got it for $2-3. The 8265 retails c. $20, plus I spent another $10 for antenna...

Literally me, down to keeping a 3930k machine as a home server. I can say my firestrike score improved quite a bit going from the 3930k to an 1800X

And this is OC VS OC, however driver versions for GPU are different. I didn't have the foresight to redo it on the 3930k prior to taking out the GPU, but I can later on this week after my MSI 1080 TI Armor gets here

Hey, can you pls tell me in what two RAM slots you installed those two sticks? The manual is confusing me a bit, so I could use a first hand advice. Mine should arrive any day now.
