Corsair h80i V2 Pump Control

Hi.

If I don't use the included USB cable/install Link software, can I control the pump speed through the BIOS ? Do I even need to (I hear some just run it at full speed always) ?
I'll control the rad fan through the motherboard so I only need to know about the pump.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can run the pump off PWM a connector on MB. CPU fan header for pump. I ended up running pump 75-100% and used system fan header to run fans via bios heat curve, never below 45%. The only reason to use the software is to change the block led color, then uninstall it.

Best practice is to use MB headers for speed control/ info only and actually run the pump and fans off PSU, but that requires additional wiring harnesses...
