Asus Prime X370 Pro Problems - Page 2

I just updated to 0515 and I'm having the same issue as TheChiv.

Same setup with corsair ram Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 and can only get up to 2400 with DOCP.

I was thinking this latest BIOS was going to allow me to hit 2900 mhz but nothing.

Any help tweaking this would be appreciated. I have set it to DOCP and tried going up from 2400 but no boot with overclocking failed message appeared after.

I have the 1800x btw and Prime x370

Sooo I returned the gpu and bought an ASUS RX480 DUAL casue the strix wasn't in stock. It doesn't crash anymore when playing games. Also with latest bios 0515 I was able to get to 2666 Mhz 13-15-15-15-31 with corsair 3000Mhz CL15. I returned the corsair and bought G. SKILL Ripjaws V 3600 CL16 and I can't seem to get it passed 2933.

I just updated the bios to 0604 and my PC turned into a bugatti. I can boot into windows (lock screen) in 16.5 seconds. Before the best i could get was 22.5 by disabling boot logo and setting post delay to 1 sec. I'm now running my G.SKILL at 3200Mhz! Everything is soooo fast. I even got 1652 on cinebench at stock settings.

I see that OP returned his Corsair LPX and found better luck with G. Skill. But I've still got my lpx (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R),
1700x & asus prime so I'd thought I'd bump this thread and see if anyone else is having better luck with 0604.

I'm updated the bios but can't even break stock speeds without being sent into a bootloop. I'm going to run the 5 steps asus-Gary posted and report back with the results.

I'm new to overclocking RAM so I will ask is there anything else I should know or need to update before I get started?

Manually set the VDDCR SOC voltage to 1.1v. Make sure it is on manual, not offset. I had the same ram and I could run it at 2666 with 0515 bios even without changing the SOC voltage but bumping up the SOC voltage should make overclocking a bit easier. Cant remember the exact settings but they were something like 13-14-14-14-30 or 12-14-14-14-28 @ 1.35v. and btw my G skill wont run stable at 3200 sadsmiley.gif

Hey All,

I am having problem with getting my DDR4 past 2133MHz with BIOS 0604.

My specs are:

Ryzen 7 1700
G.skill RipJaws V F4-3200C16D-GVK
Asus Prime X370 PRO

I have tried using D.O.C.P to overclock but failed past 2133MHz. I've tried to manually overclock but couldn't get it to work. I always get overclock failed.
I haven't done overclocking for long and want to learn.

My current DDR4@2133MHZ is set to the following:

FSB:DRAM 3:32
CAS# Lat (CL) 15
RAS# Delay (rRCD) 15
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 15
Cycle Time (tRAS) 36
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 51
Command rate (CR) 1T

Anyone else had similar issues?
Let me know if you use the same ram and mobo and have had better luck.

Can anyone post me your results with your overclock setup and the max you could get with this ram.

Thanks in advance.

Your ram F4-3200C16D-GVK is not on the QVL ---> http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/PRIME_X370-PRO/PRIME_X370-PRO_Memory_QVL_20170406.PDF?_ga=1.137078000.1167984638.1491959055
This may be part of of the problem. I was looking at some ripjaws V but decided to play it safe with some LPX 3000Mhz.

Try setting the RAM speed manually in AI tweaker in the BIOS or Ryzen master from AMD. I have my Vengence LPX running at 2666Mhz but with no help from DOCP.
I also had to adjust the timings off of auto to what the RAM's specific optimized numbers. Your's would be Cas Latency 16, Timing 16-18-18-38, Voltage 1.35V.

Asus broke RAM support on the 0604 BIOS. Anything but Samsung-b die RAM won't post past 2133 or 2400Mhz, which was previously fine up to 2933.

Thanks for the info.
Should I jump back to an older BIOS?

Damn, I thought It was on the QVL list but now that I rechecked it I must have seen the G.SKILL F4-3400C16D-16GVK. I should have used the find button in the pdf. My bad.

I'll give manual a try with those settings.

A friend of mine build an intel I7 build back before Ryzen release with an Asus Prime z270AR and is willing to buy them off me.
So, now i'm thinking of buying new gskill ram with Samsung-b die with similar speeds.

Any recommendations?

I looked at the flare X but I can only get them at 2400MHz from my local store atm and they were similar priced to my ripjaws V.

They damn sure did break it. Quite the performance hit.
