XHCI (USB 3.0) vs EHCI (USB 2.0) - Motherboard specific or...? - Page 8

This method doesn't really work.
I tried it last night. It does enable the display-scaling option in nvcpl, but the video feed to my monitor is actually still gpu-scaled. It can be confirm by that when I set the resolution below 1920x1080, the monitor OSD still says it's 1920x1080.
My pc build is, Win10 x64, Z77 motherboard, GTX1070, Asus VG248QE.

It doesn't work for me also, i used display port(didn't know you need dvi-d for this) and got it to show "perform scaling on display" for a brief moment but everything was messed up, never got 120hz on csgo etc. When i tried it with dvi-d the display scaling option is just not there no matter what timings i try what custom resolution i choose. I also watched jstar video, i can set the custom resolutions to work fine but sadly no scaling on display option for me.

I am noticing that having "EHCI Hand-off" makes my mouse feel more controllable and reliable, at the cost of the ability to make reactive decisions with aiming. Isn't Win10 suppose to have hand-off support?

Looking to upgrade my system to a 7700k on a Z270 board. I notice alot of the Asus Strix boards have their USB 2.0 ports removed.
I was going to buy the ROG Strix Z270F Gaming until noticed it had no usb 2.0 ports. I remember reading alot of people saying that USB3 felt floaty with input lag, has this been resolved or a issue with some 3rd party chipsets? What issues would I have using a USB3 mouse port on a z270 native intel port.

Does that whole USB 2.0 being better than 3.0 exist on most motherboards?

For me any motherboard which has USB 3.0 ports use use the 'intel chipset' (it should say on the mobo guide) they work exactly the same as usb 2.0 - I don't know about any other ports which use 3rd party drivers etc. My board has 2 3.0 ports from someone else but I've never tried them they're called ASMEDIA usb 3.0

Asmedia usb 3 is stupidly buggy on W10. Driver creates a lot of noise.

I've disabled usb 3.0 on my motherboard (maximus vii hero) so i'm using the windows default drivers with a usb 2.0 port atm. I checked and there are no intel drivers for windows 10 on asus website(if i select w7 there is a usb driver called: Intel USB 3.0 Driver V3.0.1.41 for Windows Win7 32bit & Win7 64bit---(WHQL). ) so i guess windows 10 are using their own drivers anyway?

I haven't noticed any lag and polling is fairly stable at 1khz but i want to try intel drivers.
