Frostpad - Black [First impressions] - Page 4

Feels like this pad introduces some kind of acceleration. It's not much, but it's clearly noticeable that the cursor movement is more sluggish on my Frostpad than it is on the wooden table I use for a desk. This is the 3366 in my G403 I'm talking about, and on the most compatible Frostpad. Oddly enough, I only noticed it a few minutes ago. I must have had things running on my computer to make me thing that something else was causing it to be slow, but it's definitely the pad. I'm guessing this is normal because it's glass and all, just giving anyone who's concerned a heads up. ;p

Also, I've never really used that MouseTester software before. How do I go about accurately comparing the tracking between two surfaces?

Just had a thought lol. Call me stupid, but I bet it's because it's practically two surfaces, right? The glass, then the black paint below. Makes sense to me.

I think it's a tracking issue, not an accel issue. Not all mice work with all pads, even slight differences can cause incompatibility. Do you have another Logitech 3366 mouse to try on this pad?

I don't think a 3366 would have trouble tracking on glass, let alone causing it to have accel..(??) don't even think that's physically possible lol

You sure you know what you're looking for..? I've come to learn the large majority of gamers confuse mouse accel with any weird feeling mouse input.

Glass surfaces tend to mess with lod, it's possible you need to adjust that in your drivers with their surface tuning tool or w.e logitech calls it

Ah, the memories of my IceMat from 2002...

I loved the mousepad so much--only wish it had been bigger.

Really ate mousefeet though frown.gif

i can't remember any accel-like issues on my glass pad with the G403 or G303. i was using factory LOD setting.
did you make sure there's no moisture(sweat) on the pad? it will mess with the tracking of pretty much every sensor.

+ that

if you can recreate it somehow, then let us know and i'll try it out with my G403

Yeah, I probably got the words mixed up. It was late last night/this morning lol. I thought bad surfaces caused accel for mice, though..?

Anyway, I was using the factory LOD setting when I noticed this. I turned it for the pad, and it feels slighty different, but I can't explain how. But with either setting, it still feels "slower" than my other surfaces.

Oh yeah, maybe this has something to do with the tracking as well, because it doesn't happen on any of my other pads. Sometimes, if I leave the mouse still for a bit on the Frostpad, it doesn't track at all for a fraction of a second when I move it.

But anyway, yeah. Washed it and everything; still feels less responsive than the other pads. Guessing it's just a normal thing then? Tbh, I'll probably still use it more often than all my other ones regardless lol. So nice..

can't say I've ever felt my glass mousepad to feel less responsive... no idea what that even means!
but it sounds like yours has an issue of some sort. which is strange, cause I've used G403, G303 and G Pro on mine without any issues. all have Hyperglides on them. default LOD setting.

What I mean is, things feel like they're happening later than they should be, or than they have previously, when I move the mouse. And it's not really an issue, just something I noticed. I hope it doesn't mean there's something wrong with my mouse, though. D;

plugged in my G403 but couldn't find any anomalies. i guess a possibility is that your pad has a different surface and is somehow upsetting the sensor, but i can't imagine that being the case.
i mean, if you have this issue on the glass pad but not on your other pads, that quickly hints to LOD. but since you said you tried factory LOD, as well as cleaned the pad.. upsidedwnsmiley.gif

anyway, i saw no anomalies when i checked some plots in mousetester, nothing that indicates delay or accel. not sure what specifically i could try.

if you still have LGS installed, maybe try a few more LOD settings? biggrin.gif
