it's the same surface as the Dechanic Control if anyone has used that, so you can save yourself a little money if you don't mind it being thicker, or a smaller size. redface.gif

wish I knew that before ordering, but it's not that I dislike the pad, it's just that I for some reason thought CONTROL was one type of surface - they offer two, or more, it seems.

What size of your pad?

950x550mm...
I realized I should have gone with 900mm, but I wanted at least 500mm height so it was the only option I saw.
it's a really good pad overall, I like the 3mm much more than the 6mm Dechanic to be honest, though.

looks like thin version of cougar control 2. I guess the surface is same. This seems nice.

I think so

Man the gtfx is way faster than the Hien. You're saying that this is slower than the Hien but similar to the gtfx, that doesn't make much sense to me. :S

that's what I wonder too, but I am not sure if it depends a lot on mouse feet and whatnot...?
but at the same time, my Hien never felt really worn out, whereas the very early G-TF did, after half a year or so... didn't have the G-TFX for long enough though.

Similar in terms of what it is, dimensions, coarse style surface, stitched edges - etc. It is slower - however I was using large mouse skates which can contribute to slowing it down further - also my gtfx was never fully flat so that can slow it down further. GTFX also has some type of plastic in the mix - the surface of the x-ray pad is the same type of material on the hien

But long story short - yes it's slower than the GTFX - it's labeled as a control pad. Compared to the hien its similar but I feel it's a minor amount slower - sorry for the confusion - what part do you need me to edit specifically so that others don't get confused? Just the 'most similar to?"

I think the video part @ 3:30
"it's not a speed pad" but also saying it's closest to the G-TFX, made me think it was very fast compared to, but you say the Hien might be a little faster a bit earlier in the video.

ah well I can't edit the video at this point. I was pretty much just talking off the top of my head - it's similar to the GTFX like I said above, dimensions, surface feel, stitching etc etc - but actual glide yeah it's slower. Nearly an unnoticeable amount slower than the hien too - also not as 'coarse' and doesn't have the plastic feel that the gtfx has - my biggest issue with the FX like I've said several times was how wavy (not flat) it was out of box and even after 2-3 weeks of usage it still wouldn't get flat for me
