[TechPowerUP ]Destiny 2 Officially Confirmed for PC - Page 5

So how does this work exactly with their 10 year plan?
Did they decide to throw it out of the window and just focus on Destiny 2 or do they have the crazy idea to run both games including all the DLC nonsense so people are paying even more for a single franchise with the quality obviously lacking since the content is split.

What we've discovered is that the plan is for there to be multiple Destiny games through the years. Once Destiny 2 is out there will no longer be DLC releases for Destiny 1.

Release new game -> throw in DLC -> launch new game with a fresh start and repeat the cycle
It's no different from most other AAA games now-a-days.
IMO I prefer the fresh start as long as the content is exciting and plentiful....which has been an issue for Destiny so far. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

From my other post, #31. They are years behind on their schedule but there will be 4 Destiny games.

This is how I feel. I started with House of Wolves though. The game got much better with TTK, and the director of that expansion is the director of D2.

I am not sure if anyone said this, but the reason why destiny 1 story was lacking, is because the writer of the story quit 3 months before the game came out, and do to contract agreement he all had all rights to the story.

I don't think any game, especially one this big would have one "writer"

Also if you are on company time on company hardware the IP belongs to the company even if it is a side project of your own. Game developers don't subcontract portions of their game out like that.

yeah i dont buy that. Firstly no way would the game have had one writer, secondly i would taken the view that the story would have been the property of the company rather than the writer. So unless it was oddly written into a contract that should he leave before the game is released that they cant use the story - what company would allow such a clause? Him leaving 3 months before release wouldnt have had any affect on the story which came out with the game.

They couldnt make the mobs more bullet sponge or boring. The DLC did nothing to fix the issues the game had.

You and I must not have played the same game then. By the time the second DLC came out, the gameplay was far superior to the first iteration of the game. I have quite a bit of hours logged into Destiny before the first DLC drop, and I can tell you it's much different now than it was. Granted, the story can't be changed, only tweaked and elaborated onto, but the playing is still much better and a lot more involved.

Welcome to MMOs in general. You have to realize this is an MMO that gallivants as an FPS. So of course enemies are bullet sponges.

From the looks of it, D2 will be there main focus.

I stopped playing destiny before the xpak, but I was fully geared and top pvp, there was nothing much left to do.
