I think that will be left to you. Maybe just a little adhesive to keep it on. Part of what you are doing is trying to reduce the space between the IHS and the chip. In a video that I saw the guy suggested leaving a little gap instead of going all the way around. In fact, look at the picture you took and you will see that the original seal didn't go all the way around but had a little gap at the 12 o'clock position.

If so, if I find out that I barely use any LM, I'll just throw it with the relid kit once I ship it out to the next person.

Exceptions have been made. Both added. thumb.gif

Yes it is! It dropped 21C off of Max load. I always run Prime95 with the new AVX
Instructions and it always hit 102c. Now it maxes out at 81c! I'm only using PK-1 thermal paste

Very nice! I grabbed some Noctua NT-H1 paste, so hope to see some decent drops on my i5-4670K and i7-4790K.

Pretty good paste that Noctua. I used it when I got my NH-D14 for my 775/771 rig and got some for use on this 7700k rig. I plan on using it between the cooler and IHS, then Coollaboratory's Liquid Metal Ultra between the IHS and the die.

Yea, it was cheaper than the liquid metal and as I perused through an AnandTech post, performed just as well on a bare die mount using a i7-3770K.

Well, after seeing WannaBeOCer's pic, I decided to pull my EVGA GTX 980 SC apart to give it some new paste while I wait for the delid tool. The stock paste was nice & dry... good times!

Just shipped the tool to Dermen. Might take 5-7 days since I'm shipping it from southern Cali to the other side of the country.
