4K is why I ended up progressing towards a card like this. I got a killer deal on a 3440X1440 ultra wide earlier this week though drool.gif can't wait for it to come in.

4K is great, I got a little 24 inch Acer IPS panel and it looks amazing. DPI scaling can be wonky between the size and resolution lol but it's not too bad. I've been really interested in ultra wides though and couldn't pass it up. Doesn't take as much GPU power either so I might be able to max out a few more games biggrin.gif

Holy crap! And here I thought the new ASUS 4K monitor at 27" was WAY too small. 24" at 4K for gaming... just wow! kookoo.gif Seems like a huge waste IMHO.

Haha you're not wrong. It was less than $500 two years ago for a 60Hz 4K display. Games and 4K content looks really good, everything else on it is a chore.

I ran the Superposition bench at 2050 with the stock fan profile and never saw temps over 77. Hard to complain about that really. I bought a couple knowing the cooling wasnt any good since i plan to put them under water. Seemed like a cheaper way to get the Gaming X PCB. Seems like a win to me!

I also never saw temps above high 70's with the fan at 100%, but the fan at 100% was fairly noticeable to me so I got an Accelero Xtreme IV to give a try. The install isn't entirely "by the book", but it seems to work fine. The card is taller than standard so you can't use the clips on the back heatsink, and also can't use the mounting bracket holder thing. The card has a metal front plate, and that combined with the stiffness of the heatsink on the back seemed to work out to be enough for the card not to sag, even with the fairly extreme weight. I thermal padded the **** out of the backside on all the VRM's and RAM chips. The end result? 100% fan speed is inaudible and never gets above 56C. I still don't seem to be able to 100% reliably clock higher than +125 core (tops out at 2050 or 2068, I forget which), but the noise difference alone is worth the $60.
