If anything FX CPU is better for gaming now than when it came out.

People not wanting to upgrade is now loyalty?

Not everyone is you. Many users here are still content with AM3 and haven't upgraded.

Many people have been waiting over 2 years for Zen, not only to buy it, but also see what it would do to the cpu market. Since Intel doesn't want to lower their own cpu prices, AMD is clearly in a great position to take cpu market share. From a basic pc stand point, ryzen 5 1400 will be the ultimate budget cpu for prebuilts and people who want to adopt the am4 platform and buy an 8 core cpu when zen+ comes out.

That is a very fair point. I just hate when people lie and say they had no need for anything faster than AM3 and want to upgrade to Zen just because.

You can be more transparent lol. Most people have reasons for staying AM3 and most have reasons to upgrade to Zen. All I am trying to say is I would like to know what has changed for AM3 user that was ok for 5 year to sundly need the prozer Zen provided. Was it a cost thing? Was its a not going to get Intel and I must wait for AMD thing? I like to go with my flow and upgrade when I need or want something and not when AMD/Intel/Nvidia "tell me" me to upgrade.

Like myself some werent gonna leave an 8 core to a quad cores. We like progress.

Ryzen is the progress.

In my case I couldn't wait, so I went X99.

Simple. I was not gonna get a quad core no matter how fast it was.

Tell me about it. For more than half an year I am debating if I should have gone 6700 and recently 7700 or wait for Zen to jump from my ancient quad core biggrin.gif

Ryzen is worth every penny and AMD should get credit for it.

Nobody is arguing when you buy new. Also for most people that care about just gaming Ryzen is nothing special to warranty an upgrade even for SB users.

Not sure if serious.
