I don't think AMD boards are getting DDR5 memory in the next 4 years, nor are you going to require a socket better than PCI-E 3.0x16 for a GPU upgrade, 4 years from now. So right now, AMD is more future proof.
Also, I dunno what it is about these new Intel Chips, but they run REALLY hot. I'm getting 10-15C hotter temps under load than my Sandy Bridge I5 got with the same cooler, and I had to upgrade to a freaking H80i, and this I5 6600k still runs hotter on an H80i than an I5 2500k does on a 212+ evo, wow!? I'm still getting 60c temps during gaming on an H80i cooler. My old I5 2500k never got much higher than mid 50s in gaming. I'm not buying any more Intel chips until they start putting non-junk thermal compound under the lids again.
