[Build Log] Case Labs BH4 w/Dual 240' s

Yo, new here and to Case Labs. thumb.gif

With what felt like an eternity of searching, viewing pictures, re-reading measurements, double checking hardware lengths a million times I bit the.... Bullet tongue.gif , with a BH4 for a custom loop, hopefully I won’t hit any road blocks.

Critical hardware,

DUAL SLI, ZOTAC GTX 1080 mini’s (doesn’t look like a mini Ti on the cards yet wha-smiley.png)
DUAL, GTX970 GPU blocks (bit of work here, more later)
Dual, Magicool 240 G2 Slim Radiator’s
Silverstone SFX-L 800W PSU
ROG STRIX Z270G GAMING
Everything water, EKWB

A few parts have arrived to do some pre-planning of the loop, I have now placed an order, eagerly waiting for EK & Amazon to process! thumbsupsmiley.png

(fan options)

I remember reading of speculation on 240 fitments on the front so I played it safe picking up a 120. I can confirm with a little bit of a tweak to the front 120.2 bracket you can slide the radiator over enough (only a few mm) to have the Magicool in the perfect position to get the case cover to slide on, fans in push. As far as I can find the Magicool is the shortest 240 out? Let me know if you have found something shorter (272x120x27 mm).

The top 120.2 is fine but having the front 120.2 rad installed means you need to offset it towards the back. This will cause some air vent alignment issues, something I will have a think about for a good solution. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker as most of it lines up to the vents.

There is no chance in getting a front and top 240 if the front fans are normal 25mm thickness. I opted for the Silverstone FN123 @ 15mm, pressure @ 1.52mmH2O / 23.5dBA. I really wanted was the CoolerMaster XtraFlo 120 Slim rated @ 1.76 mmH2O but they don’t seem to be for sale anywhere on the net mad.gif

For me I am gutting the entire lower section and will use all that space to house all the water cooling gear leaving only nice PETG bends & fittings in the top, hopefully smile.gif. I have a NAS so storage for me will just be using the dual M.2 slots for games.

More to come as parts arrive !

Few more bits arrived from EK & Amazon, just waiting on SFX-L PSU & Zotac 1080 mini's, hopefully this week. thumbsupsmiley.png

drool.gif

Along with modifying the 120.2 intake bracket I had to set the radiator before the fans or the end tank was going to interfere with the case windows because they stick out 2~3mm into the inside case.

I contemplated cutting the windows in flush but found if I configured the radiator / fans in that combo it would allow me to mount the top 240 into perfect alignment with the 120.2 bracket, so win win! smile.gif A little devo but as the fans are white and would of looked cool contrasting against the black on the front, with the whole black and white minimalist theme doh.gif

The EK DDC pump & X3 Res fit perfectly into the bottom, the DDC pump even mounts perfectly to the 60mm rear fan location.

I suspect I will use this for the pump, and have the fill port to the side. Not sure where the res will go I need to wait for the PSU and GFX cards to decide how the pipes will work. I did think about getting a radiator bracket and mounting it in the top of the case but I want to keep the case as clutter free as possible only showing pastel white coolant pipes.

Another cool thing is the 12mm PETG pipe's will fit with space to clear though the cable tray plate which should make pass though easy. thumb.gif

It seems you bought Mayhems Pastel Extreme, right? If that's the case, I hope you know that it doesn't work with PETG. If you got acrylic tubing then you are fine, otherwise, you need to get Mayhems Paster or Mayhems X1.

Damn your right, thanks for the heads up bro ! Yeah its the Extreme one #fail My Local shop doesn't have any thing else except EK Pastel White but looks like EK has removed it from their site, wonder if that stuff would be ok for PETG.

Yeah, EK Pastel White is pretty much Mayhems Pastel White. You should be all right with the EK variant.

Definitely SUBBED. I was waiting and searching for so long trying to find someone who mounted the pump and res in the bottom compartment and say it fits.

Yeah man the X3 RES will mount with retention brackets and still leave you a few mm of clearance with the motherboard tray on, I have a bunch of updates and pics to upload shortly.

I actually changed out the res I was using for a EK-XRES 140 DDC top so I can have it mounted nicely to the pump all as one unit, it looks better that way too. The EK fill port mounted flush on the front of the case looks OEM, tip case up to fill, easy.

ZOTAC's 1080 mini, so small! thats a 120mm fan.

Will it fit???!

so little !
