I second this, even had some of the voltages at questionable limits on a B85 chipset variant. Which was odd. Even though I am an ASUS fanboy ASUS tends to be the worst in my experience when it comes to excessive over voltage on "auto" settings.

Some mobos in auto OC are worse than other, my old MSI one put the CPU at 1.35 for just 4.2. The ASRock puts only 1.26 for that same speed.

also been asking the same question about my 3770k @ 4.5 ~ 4.6 ghz and it seems like it doesn't make a difference unless you are targeting high frame rates on lower resolutions such as 144hz @ 1080p
