DrugDiscovery@Home = Testing CUDA - Page 2

post #11 of 20
I can only get 1 of my GPU's in windows to work. The other is idle.

With 5 WU's running (each using a full core) I'm at 60-70% utilization with a 1080.

I guess I can get my wuprop star faster wink.gif

BM now decides to not let me move both the tasks to one GPU and won't let it run on the 1070 so the 970 is sitting there doing nothing.

There's also no check pointing...
post #13 of 20
I used an app_config to limit it to one GPU with the project_max_concurrent flag.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Code:
<app_config>
<app>
<name>gmx</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
<project_max_concurrent>2</project_max_concurrent>
</app_config>

Well my two tasks completed. This is the credit:

259,031.91
313,865.38

DAAAMN. That's half of what I've already done that took me over a month to complete.

AVX2 is also needed on the CPU. For Windows only maybe?

Wow, just one of those work units would give me 20x what I currently have in credit in the project o_O

Odd part though is the test projects flag isn't there, but there is now a "Use Nvidia GPU" checkbox.

Yeah, here is the project points. Like other projects that add a GPU app the prior points become basically peanuts. Enigma and FAH are good examples.

This is only from 37 users. And some of them got the smaller 8k point tasks. The project has a small following to begin with.

Started this an hour ago, 2 tasks on a 960.  One is at 4% and one is at 69%, guess this is not going to be very predictable for now.  GPU utilization around 80% with 2 tasks.  It seems to be using about 3 cores of an FX-6300 to service the GPU.

I think there are some different sizes. The several hundred k point tasks and some are like 8k points. I got 3 more this morning. 2 were going much quicker than the 3rd.

I think I'm going to bail on this gromacs app until checkpointing arrives.

You'll lose all progress if you are crunching other gpu projects as well and it switched to them before the gromics tasks finished.

Also can't suspend to play games...

Not sure what I was thinking about when I used my main comp to test an alpha app headscratch.gifbiggrin.gif

Did the gravy train come to an end? The last several tasks have been a much lower RAC. I tried getting more work last night but some others seem to be hoarding them. I could only get but like 3 and I see some that have pages of in progress tasks. Work blocks the site so I can't check atm.
