Unity is one reason why Mint is far more popular than Ubuntu.

Unity was not that ambitious. It's "just" a shell which could have been done on any other stack. Mir is the real problem.

Manjaro 17 Gnome is the best for Desktop IMO. Nvidia and steam work right out the box and its all rolling release updates unlike Ubuntu. Its the future.

Sad to see Ubuntu mobile go personally, because the possibilities were really there. I feel like if they had more resources and a marketing department it could have really changed a lot - the ability to have a phone, and plug into a monitor and also have the functionality of a desktop computer. It could completely eliminate the standard desktop computer for most people that only use their computer for internet browsing, writing/spreadsheet programs.
There's obvious problems to that idea (likely why their mobile project is being scrapped) but I feel like that's where we're heading anyway.

Don't care about Unity, should have been scrapped some time ago.

I've never tried an arch-based distro, is Manjaro really that good now? If so I'll definitely give it a shot.

I've been on Ubuntu forever but Manjaro blew me away as everything works right from install.

Super user friendly and the rolling release updates keep coming. If you look at DistroWatch, Manjaro is already beating Ubuntu in hits.

Mint is more popular than Ubuntu, and the source is... wait for it... wait for it... not Distrowatch I hope...
