Anyone go from XB271HU to Benq XL2730Z?

Just in process of returning my first XB271HU. Going to try the replacement and if its bad im thinking of refunding and going for the Benq. Wonder if anyone else has either done this, or has first hand experience of both monitors? Did you have any quality problems with the Benq?

I know they are different in many ways, gysnc/freesync, IPS/TN. With new AMD gpus coming soon its perhaps at last possible to change over to AMD.

I play competitive games mostly CSGO and Overwatch mainly.

Had the XB270HU, not the XB271HU but they are very similar. Also had the XL2730Z at the time for 144hz strobing. Benq had no quality issues at all but it uses a pretty grainy matte coating which I dislike and it ended up developing the fuzzy text+flickering problem after 11 months so I had to RMA it. Benq was really quick with the RMA process I got my monitor back 2 days after I shipped it out to them.

So then of the 2 monitors you kept the Benq? I have a cheap 27" Benq at home for work and its pretty good so im hoping the high end ones will be great. Actually Benq has some nice little features that i think ill like, the headphone rest and the profile changer. Also the osd looks easy to use.

I was watching this video and the only major difference between the 2 models shown is the colours.

I actually ended up selling both of them but yes the benq is built pretty well and has some nice little features so if build quality is your main concern then don't be too worried. No monitor is going to gurantee you a perfect one but you'll have a solid chance.

do you prefer your Dell 2417 over the XB271HU? if so, why?

I found the Dell to be a much better monitor for overwatch and csgo. Its the only games I play on that monitor. I wouldnt recommend anyone buy it if they can only have a single monitor and need it to be good at everything. The XB271HU is a much better all arounder but I simply had no need for a balanced monitor anymore since I have many seperate displays for everything. For fast paced competitive games I use the Dell 2417DG. For single player games like witcher 3, dark souls 3, nier automata I use an LG B6P OLED. For general desktop applications I use a 40 inch 4k Samsung KU6300. I wanted to get the AOC 352UCG for single player games but after reading your review on it I might hold off. But if I could only have a single monitor I wouldnt choose the Dell over the Acer.

Got the replcement today. Not sure why but I had really high hopes and thought this one would be great. I was wrong. Its much worse than the first one so im sending it back for a refund and gonna try the Benq.

The first monitor had horrible bleeding on the bottom right corner. The replacement has the same but also the top right is really bad.

Thats my journey with IPS at an end. Its too much hassle returning monitor after monitor to get something that likely wont be perfect but will be within your acceptable limits. Really sucks and a real waste of time.

Went for the AOC AG271QX instead cos it was a bit cheaper and seemed to be very similar to the benq. Its a terrible monitor, very hard to set up to get it looking good and when you do it looks like crap in the next game. Plus its got a grainy kinda screen which is really noticable on a white back ground. Also there seems to be some kind of sharpening enabled which looks awful in certain places, there is no way to alter this over digital input frown.gif

Every time I send a monitor back to amazon it costs me £23. Thats £69 so far in sending monitors back.
