Most had a Athlon 64/XP or Pentium 4.

Still have my Athlon 64 in a drawer.

I didn't get a Athlon x2 till after the 360 came out, and still only had the 7600gt. Let me put it this way, 360 was the system I used for graphics back then.

Yeah really i used to game on an amd duron i think it was 900mhz was a screamer... actually first it was the amd something or other 466mhz gamed it up Half-life 320x240 Old School software blocky Bliss biggrin.gif

Lol really?! I don't know about other people but when I game I'm in the same position as I am right now sitting in front of my PC - about 1/2 a metre away from the screen. I don't know any console gamer that would sit so close. I mean it defeats one of the major perks of console gaming, which is being able to lounge on a sofa with the controller and game with the TV about 2/3 metres away.

Also, I disagree totally that this is going to be a bigger jump than XB1 was to 360, no chance. XB1 actually had exclusive games making the most of it's 'power' (don't laugh, 1.3TF was decent 3-4 year ago) and was multiple times more powerful than 360. As I said, the biggest thing that will hamper Scorpio is the no exclusive policy, where all games are going to have to run on XB1. As we have seen with the Pro, this means most games will target the platform with the largest userbase, which is the PS4 and in this case the XB1, as depressing as that sounds.

Think you mean Crysis, not Crysis 2.

And biggest problem was lack of memory. 512mb of total system memory was a big problem.

Which is why the had to do remake the engine to work on consoles. Which is why Crysis 2 was on console before crysis 1. Even though crysis 2 looked "better".


Lack of GPU power or CPU power wasn't the problem. It was purely memory.


using 512mb of ram was the worst choice ms and sony could have made in terms of long term, and bottlenecked the console till the end.

BTW the 360 was released 2005 and Crysis was 2007. Seems at that time Crytek was not into consoles.

Crysis 3 is on the 360 though.

So not having Crysis is a poor argument.

8800gtx launched a full year after 360 and still could not play crysis.
