On a technical level, they could port Horizon Zero Dawn to Xbox One in a month if they wanted to, and unless they use Vulkan the PC version is already halfway to being an Xbox version, if they use DX12 at all then they will effectively have made an Xbox game regardless of whether it shows up on the Xbox store.

Did some more digging, and there is pretty much no chance of it coming to Xbox since it appears as if Sony actually owns the IP.

The bottom part of the poster mentions “Death Stranding is a trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment America LLC.” It sounds like Sony owns the IP which means you may never see a Xbox version of the game.

And a link to the trademark

All that said, the Scorpio has me very interested as well for my own use. It has been a long time since I jumped back into console heavy, and the Switch (as you know) let me down. The Scorpio is squarely on the radar though, and is mainly due to my One S impressions.

The s seems like the price of a standalone uhd bluray player. Is there any reliable way to do that on pc without kaby lake yet?

Look at the Xbox One S price. Great price for what you get. I expect great pricing with the scropio.

This really is the most likely scenario.

What I want to see is the BoM for the Xbox One at launch to the Scorpio BoM at launch.

I bet people thinking $700 would be surprised at the shift in technology for the money. Sure a Scorpio at the time of the One launch would have been $700 I am sure. Not today though, because of technology progression.

A nice 4K TV and a Scorpio sounds pretty nice.

It looks like the Xbox One was making a fair bit of money at launch, and even after dropping Kinect and pricing at $399.

Apparently the Scorpio die is the same size as the Xbox One at 360mm, so the only real question now is how much extra the DDR5 costs compared to DDR3 from four years ago, but given how little the price of RAM seems to have affected the PS4 it can't be too much. I guess the heat sink is bigger now but that shouldn't cost them any more than $10 extra (at the absolute most).
Given how little has actually changed I'm still confident that Microsoft could launch at $399, the question is whether or not they will.

Especially when the best versions of the games aren't found on their console. Guess I really shouldn't complain though. I can play them without the added console cost, so I lose out on nothing.

Locking games to a single console is the worst thing you can do to the general public. Who wants to buy a game tied only to a single platform.

I just like having more PC games, Honestly wish Sony titles would come to the PC as well. For me Sony and Nintendo consoles were only for the exclusives, Xbox was for console multiplayer.

I agree. As a consumer, I wish all console games would come to PC. I don't see the business sense in it though if the goal is to sell consoles. Again, I'm not complaining though. I can't think of a valid reason to care if a billion dollar corporation wants to lose some sales. And apparently they're still doing fine anyway, so what do I know?

Highly doubt Xbox will get the game. You can lead horse to the water........

A $399 launch would be fun and make Nintendo look like morons. Double points!

Well Nintendo's product is unique. So I do not see how Scorpio would affect it.

I will eventually buy the switch when smash bros is out.

Sony has nice exclusives and the console as machine.. well it is so easy to operate that thing that I think that is a huge reason for the majority of people to even buy it. Hell "the gamers" I know do not even know what they are PC components are. They just know how much money they paid to someone to put the parts in a box. Leave alone what "settings" menu inside game is biggrin.gif

I hate how many people just equate the GPU on Scorpio to RX 480. RX 480 has 5.83 Tflps while this has 6 Tflops. GPU in Xbox has 384-Bit which is huge. 256 GB/s vs 326 GB/s. Memory bandwidth is one of the areas RX 480 lacks for 4K gaming.
