Looks like an overclocked xbox 360 with a beefed up chasis for the console gamers who care about sound and heat. Would like to see fully passive cooling system

This is not a replacement. Unlike Sony, Microsoft want Scorpio the Lead platform for all Consoles and developers can than downgrade the games for PS4 Pro, PS4 and Xbox One S. Sony in the other hand with is 60 Million user base is too afraid to make PS4 Pro a lead platform because they might offend their fanboys. The way I see it is that Sony is too scared to made any big changes that affect their core user base. Microsoft in the other hand want Xbox to be more like PC and sell games not not hardware and exclusives.

As PC gamers what Nintendo and Sony does is EVIL. Exclusives are terrible to gamers. I want to play U4, Zelda etc in the platform I like not the platform I am forced to play. You know what sucks? A lot of these 1rst party or 2nd party devs are forced into a lot of these contracts. Without Sony and Nintendo money these games would not be made and for that reason EA, Ubi, Acti are not so evil and respect their independence from Console makes. I remember in the olden day some of these devs would create fake studios to release games for other consoles because their main studio was under console exclusivity contract with Nintendo.

I was checking PS4 exclusives that are coming up. Man 80% are Jap/Anime games. I love anime but Anime games I hate. You really can see Xbox is a Western Box while PS is World Wide.

Not pissing off your core fan base is smart, look at what happened to Microsoft with the reveal of the Xbox One. They pissed off their fan base and ever since then Sony has been crushing them in systems sold and games sold.

Microsoft pissed off the fan base not by having exclusives but by forcing people to buy the xbox with the kinect, and some pretty heavy handed always on drm. (if i remember correctly) That is what they had to back peddle on but the damage was too late

They wanted to change the formula after seeing how big Wii was with family.

But wait, I just thought of something. You said play anywhere started in October, right. You remember that string of sales victories Microsoft had last year after One S launched? Can you tell me what month that ended in?

Pretty sure you meant June to October, but close enough.

Wait. We're both right. We make one hell of a team.

Exclusives (and in fact games in general) are not the only thing that MS is targeting with the Xbox. The One S showed that by being the only console to support 4k Bluray and HDR. They are also targeting HTPC and are very interested in the Xbox as a media hub for the living room. Its not all about exclusives.
