Obviously you meant "an Xbox One with 30% OC and better cooling" but nobody was ever expecting Scorpio to be a HUGE step forward since its still an Xbox One. This is not a next generation machine and I for one and more than satisfied that we are actually getting a mid-cycle refresh as potent as Scorpio (and PS4 Pro for that matter) rather than languishing for 8 years on the same hardware like we had to with PS3 and 360. Seriously, what is it you guys have to complain about with these products? I think they are both great for the industry and consumers.

Sorry DP. Is there something going on with OCN right now? Crap's wonky for me all the sudden...

Well, with the Pentium G4560 available, you can build a fairly capable machine at that price point, though that's not including Windows. Personally, I'd rather have a $430 G4560/RX 470 PC than a PS4 Pro.

Posting is a bit sluggish for me as well. Network issues, perhaps? And I wouldn't bother much with that boomer fellow. As far as I can tell nothing he posts is actually a serious comment.

On the GPU it's a 350% overclock. Shame about that CPU though.

That dual core crap isn't going in any PC I'm building.

Tflops is raw computational power. Raw computation power =/= performance. Exhibit A: ASICs vs Radeons for bitcoin mining.

Raw computational power= performance.

Ability to harness that performance is a different story.

It's not some made up figure...

Exhibit A driver optimization for gpu and CPU.

Optimization and having just a single hardware config simply allow consoles to be much more efficient in harnessing the power they have than PC's. The beauty of optimization is that you can get away with far less powerful hardware while still providing great performance. Obviously a decent gaming rig with say a GTX 1070 and a 7700K is going to be far more capable of providing the maximum of FPS, resolution, and graphical fidelity than that of any console, but its going to cost several times as much and a lot of that hardware potential is going to be wasted due to API and lower optimization.

As a $300 HTPC that also has a decent library of games the One S is hard to beat and the Scorpio will make a similar argument for a lot of people. It boggles my mind that MS is so hated that even when they do something great for us gamers (bringing Xbox titles to PC) they still get creamed for it! I just don't see how that is bad for anybody?
It boggles my mind that you believe I hate Microsoft. As the former proud owner of an Xbox, Xbox 360 and a current owner of a Windows gaming PC, your logic is faulty at best. Just because I'm not willing to spend $4-500 to do something a below $20 cable will do for me at higher quality doesn't mean I hate a company. I'm greatful I don't have to buy another system. This fool and his money don't have to part so soon. Thank you Microsoft.

Now that we've had this discussion, don't you feel better? I know I do.
