which ddr4 memory for ryzen? - Page 3

Hi guys

Anyone can confirm that the modules with Samsung B-die chips run at the Factory Values without problems ? Specially G.Skill products.
This is right or i should consider other features over the chips ?

Assuming you get a 3200C14 2x8GB kit (F4-3200C14D-16xxx), they offer the best chance to run at 3200 14-14-14-14-34-1T.

It is NOT guaranteed, however. There are people who have those kits that cannot run at 3200.

Note that there will be a big update from AMD to board manufacturers in May. This update will focus on RAM overclocking, and should increase the number of kits that will run at 3200 and higher speeds.

Thank you for answer but .... why is not guaranteed ?
I see users with same hardware where one run at 3200CL14, and the other not.
Why ? depends on what ?

CPU integrate controller ? in this case i think the bios is not sufficient.

AGESA code updates within newer BIOS versions have already increased compatibility with many RAM kits. Some BIOS updates before then were able to do so without updating the AGESA.

They could change the settings on the CPU's memory controller to make it more compatible. They just have to find the right settings. They are very likely already testing the new AGESA code, as May isn't all that far away.

Despite all the updates, it still looks to me that your best bet is to buy DDR4-3600 and higher. Get that single-sided Samsung B and don't look back.

Some folks are starting to have luck with Micron and Hynix RAM, but it's hit-and-miss.

What makes it Samsung B single sided?

How do you know that's what it is?

How do you get it?

I am not good with memory, what does Single rank and dual rank mean? I am thinking of buying 2x8GB for my probably Gigabyte x370 gaming 5. These are my option:

F4-3200C16D-16GVKB

F4-3200C16D-16GTZSW

F4-3200C16D-16GVK

F4-3200C16D-16GTZB

F4-3200C16D-16GTZKW

CMU16GX4M2C3200C16

What is the best of them? Price is similar. Is any of them samsung b-die?
