[Microsoft] Windows 10 Build 1703 available for update now (I've also added info on the new nVidia driver + full 1703 changelog + remove onedrive) - Page 13

I get too much screen tearing in Overwatch in this build. Never got tearing (well, it wasn't that noticeable) before in borderless fullscreen on the my previous build of Win 10. I'm not locking my FPS to my monitor's 90! I guess I won't be updating Win10 for the next 6-9 months.

Not sure if it is just me with that problem. My clean install of my custom Win10 doesn't give me 10% of the screen tearing I was experiencing with Creators Update.

I use my single licence key on three computers no problem. It even registers all three devices under the single licence on their website so don't listen to anyone else... you are golden. I don't know how many PCs it will activate on at once but I can guarantee at least 3. thumb.gif

Windows was unable to upgrade to the new build. For some reason when I run the installer it reboots to finish the update, but when the OS starts I get the Windows trouble shooting screen which prompts to shutdown the PC or repair the installation. I'm stuck on version 1607 build 14393. This is the second time I tried it.

Things I'm going to try before I do new install from the installation media:

run sfc /scannow
Reset the Windows update components
Delete everything in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

I have started a thread to only discuss game mode. Please someone benchmark and shed some light!

Did a clean install.
Tired of all the random apps getting installed and reinstalled after being uninstalled.

It's free though

This is another infuriating bug (feature?) that has been present in every single build. You "uninstall" all of the bloat/advertising from the start menu, and then it mysteriously reappears after a reboot or two. Drives me nuts.

A similar issue is the way it keeps trying to force the default programs back to Microsoft's useless crippleware. For example, it opens an image with the viewer you select once, then immediately reverts back to the MS app so you have to set it twice. Then I've repeatedly seen this issue (VIDEO) where you simply cannot change a default file association via the control panel because no matter what you select it just stays on the current one. With this new build it seems to be even worse, because I've been getting spammed with this stupid notification claiming that a programs is "causing problems" with the defaults and that it's reset them. No, I authorized that program to be the default, and the only "problem" is this bloody OS.

This update did something really messed up. When I go ingame now i'm getting gpu noise like there's no FPS cap noise, even though it's capped via afterburner and ingame.
