[Microsoft] Windows 10 Build 1703 available for update now (I've also added info on the new nVidia driver + full 1703 changelog + remove onedrive) - Page 6

I have an issue with 1703, maybe you guys can see if you have it to. I have an Glossy XSTAR with a custom rez of 96hz and a GTX 1060. I also use SVP4. When i have my rez at 60hz i can playback and hit alt+enter for full screen in MPC-HC no problems but if i do this with my custom rez in the Nvidia control panel at 96hz when i go full screen the screen will just turn black. Change the rez back to native 60 and i can hit alt+enter and playback is fine. Anyone experiencing anything like this?

Installed my own homebrew ISO. Custom theming is broken. Uninstalled, back to LTSB. I only tried it to check out the better Dpi enhancements, but not worth it at the moment for me.

Also that's the first time i installed a "regular" version of this OS - albeit still stripped of all the usual stuff, no cortana, store, apps, telemetry, onedrive, defender ect, but the difference between LTSB and regular Enterprise with all the same tweaks there seems to be still a lot more crap running even with all the same basic stuff removed, services turned off, task manager and group policy set up. Like LSTB once stripped down and tweaked you don't really need a game mode. The difference between the two that i see, Enterprise Rs2 has about 70 processes running with basically no software installed, while my LTSB Rs1 has about 40.

Also the custom color pallet for the UI now gives you a full spectrum of color to chose from, but still really only accepts certain accent colors, lol. Like if you try to pick something too dark it won't let you and just picks an approximate pre selected color. At least it did for me.

Still can't bring up the Game Bar in these two Steam games: Fallout 4 and The Witcher 2. I've disabled all other overlays, both Precision X and Steam. Maybe, it's because of G-Sync? I'm running two EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified in SLI on Acer XB280HK 4K G-Sync with the current W10:CE Nvidia GeForce driver.

If you have played Overwatch, then you should know what I mean and I do hope you had it set up right and not overlapping HRTFs (SBX + DA= Not good)

Although I am still wondering how Windows Sonic for Headphones actually works....????

I don't think I have been... I'll have to check. How would I know I am overlapping these?

Game mode is really no big deal guys. I tried it with GOW 4 and did not notice any thing different. I will still leave it on though.

Just did the manual update with no issues yet.  I didn't even realize that Windows 10 came with Hyper-V built-in until I saw the update notes.  I installed that form the features section and loaded up a Ubuntu 16.04 VM flawlessly.

One thing I did notice was that upon signing in to Cortana with my hotmail account, it actually changed my Windows password to my Microsoft account password which is very long to type in each time, but that's the price of security I guess.

Went and attempted to install the update on my work pc, 4790k on asrock extreme 6. repeatedly get clock watchdog error during the install portion. So rolled back to previous as it didn't install and reattempted two more times, same issue. Guess I'll wait to update on this machine or just not update it.

Something with the 1703 update and nVidia drivers are causing the ICC profile and custom nvidia colours to revert back to default when I restart.

Also, any game (not application though) with an nvidia profile which is detected through the manage 3d settings tab will revert the icc profile and/or custom nvidia colour settings to default while the games without a profile retain ICC/nvidia custom colour settings. This happens on both 378.92 and 381.65.

I rely on these profiles/settings because I have a laptop and can't change them externally like a normal monitor could.

I wish I didn't delete my Windows.old folder as I would definitely revert until this has been sorted.

Any ideas?

Can AMD users chime in and let us know if this is the case for you guys as well?

I've have installed 4 different cards after the update. Two AMD, two nVidia. No issues at all. I did run DDU and do clean installs though. I'm on desktop, so that might make a difference.

Does it still rob your drive of 400MB on the upgrade?
