Almost all - if you tweak the settings and get proper profiles for them.

Fired up Crysis 3 last night for S&G and cranked that baby up to the max with MaldoHD "OnTheFly" edition at 8K:

biggrin.gif I swapped out one of the fans that blows cold air directly on the GPUs - temps are not that bad so far - maxed out during superposition bench @ 99% across all 4 GPUs but max temp still < 80C.

All good - I needed both actually. Thanks guys.

Also, ran Superposition (8K Optimized) w/ these monsters and my goodness - they are absolute beasts - I can do Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

+200 is great Baasha, but at those temps, the clock bin drop is gonna be horrific. what does a GPUz sensor tab look like during a sup run?

which resistors did you "paint"?? And check the power limit flag in AB more than the PL itself. Also, measure the resistance before and after...

Thanks for testing this out for us. Hopefully you can return the pen, it's not cheap.

#Jbravo33 Which silver pen did you use? Does also GPU-Z show the same TDP?

I say we find the person who recommended the pen and force him to pay for it!

Update on my new Titan Xp experiences. First of all, I'm an idiot. Kinda.

I forgot that installing a new card would mean resetting my 3d settings, so it was doing optimal power instead of prefer maximum performance.

Since swapping it to the correct setting, I'm seeing more gains.

Now, I'm thermal throttling all the time instead of just seeing low numbers. It really gets to 83C quickly with the stock cooler.

My options are either:

a) Keep the Titan Xp and get an AIO cooler. The stock cooler is a gorgeous pile of trash that should not be included with a $1200 card.
b) Get a nice custom 1080 Ti when there is actually stock.

LOL so did a quick squad run and with liquid metal went from 121 to 100 with pen 121 114 so I guess a small increase but liquid metal best bet out of the two. For me at least. Gotta tear down system again. Smh. I can't just leave it and enjoy knowing it's better with metal. Gonna be a long night. Cards are pretty close too. I can put 221 on both thru benches @2126 but bottom card I can't get more than 900 mem card 1 1000. Pen is 842arp

I don't have anything to test for that lol I'm biting off way more than I can chew in here.

Go with A, because a nice custom 1080 Ti is not going to match the temps of a Hybrid cooler...none of them will even come close unless they're using a Hybrid cooler themselves.

Having said that, the comparable alternative would be to get a 1080 Ti FE and get a Hybrid cooler for that and still save $600-700 while you'd only be giving up 5-10% performance gains during gaming by returning your Xp.

Only reason I am not going back to the 1080 Tis I just returned is because I have amazing Xps that are each clocking +200mhz Core and +950mhz mem without additional voltage...that, and resell value. My 1080 Tis couldn't hold an OC worth a lick, even when using the same Hybrid coolers I now have on my Xps..
